garyt1957 I don't think they'll be much turning. They (we - as I freely admit I'm only here for Caitlin) will fade into the background if she continues to struggle and most, like me, will just lose interest in the WNBA and tune out. Right now I think, and believe most other Caitlin fans also believe, that the problem is the WNBA, not Caitlin. While there have always been stars in the WNBA, almost absolutely no one cared and I would venture to say that many of the top stars are still more remembered for their college careers than for any achievements they had at the professional level. I'm admittedly a very casual basketball fan and looking at their top 20 all time scorers list, there are several that I have no idea who they are or what they did.
Diana Taurasi, Tina Charles, DeWanna Bonner, Tina Thompson, Tamika Catchings, Candice Dupree, Cappie Pondexter, Sue Bird, Nneka Ogwumike, Candace Parker, Katie Smith, Sylvia Fowles, Lisa Leslie, Seimone Augustus, Lauren Jackson,. Becky Hammon, Angel McCoughtry, Breanna Stewart, Jewell Loyd, Brittney Griner.
I could argue that number 20 (Griner) is more famous than all of them and that is not because of basketball. Taurasi, Catchings, Bird and Parker were probably as well known before they went to the WNBA as they are now.
