How in the world is JMU ranked🤔. Played nobody, beat nobody, and get ranked, lol, something is wrong with that. Ok they did play Louisville.......and LOST. Would that mean I would put Duke ahead of them🤔.....they certainly should get some consideration.....don't care if they have 5 losses. Put JMU in a power 4 conf and they aren't ever sniffing the top 25 and the committee also putting North Texas in the top 25 .... both criminal IMO.

On to the ND/Bama/.Miami debate. Bama with a clearly better resume, but will the sound defeat by UGa bump them? The pundits beating the drum of the head to head is getting old. It's a factor but it's not more important then the overall resume. Miami lost to Louisville and SMU not ranked. ND lost to A and M and Miami BOTH ranked, one in the playoff and the other arguably in the playoffs. I don't get the overwhelming pundit support for Miami. Head to head is not more important then the bigger picture....and I can't stand ND. Also the time to move them ahead of ND was last week not this week when they were both idle.

It is gonna be interesting to see who gets the last two at large spots and does JMU get the last of the 5 highest ranked conf championship game winner🤔

ode I’m kind of yawning over the last teams in. I think Bama’s weaknesses were exposed in the 2nd half of the season and they can’t fix them without a radical change in offensive strategy. I don’t think Miami’s QB stands up to pressure well. I think ND is the same under scheduled and over ranked team they always are in recent years, but probably has a better chance than the other two. I think Vandy and Texas are at least as good.

ode Duke would be favored over JMU at a neutral site by 7, if not 8 points. If they had sealed the deal vs Ga Tech and beat UConn on the road, they would be a 3- loss team and would have got the invite as a conference champ. So they sealed their own fate.

But they would beat JMU right now, almost certainly.

rsvman2 yeah 5 losses and in a weak ACC is a problem but JMU.....cmon it's a joke. Listen to the discussion about the final 2 spots and the resumes. JMU has nothing to stack up.....nothing. the committee ranking JMU and N Texas at the end of the season is a joke and all about optics. The strength of record is also a joke. They did it so they didn't have to tuck tale and put in a "unranked" team. The way they rank teams is a farce. That being said they will face Oregon and Oregon is beatable!

Just take the top 12 or if it has to be tie ins then at least have the top 2 in each conf play in the conf championship. And if a group of 6 has to get in then they should have the top 2 ranked (does not mean in the top 25 or has to be in top 25) teams play as a play in game.

azgreg They are declining any bowl game after being snubbed/passed over.....a $4M loss for the school(being passed over). So yes, they may be pissed a bit.

Just as well ND declined a bowl game . Chances are many of their players wouldn't play in it and doubt 4mm matters much to them.

Notre Dame isn't about the bowl money. It's a typical move by Notre Dame. If I can't have it my way I'll take my ball and go home.

Turning down a decent bowl game would be about the seniors who can play one more game, younger players that need the practice and reps in a game situation, the alumni that would travel to a bowl game. 10 win season ain't good enough for Notre Dame to go to a bowl game. But no it's about Notre Dame.

They also might not be able to field their best team as some of their better players are going to hit the portal and don't want to risk injury, that's what it's about.

NIL/portal is why these teams are pulling out of bowl games.

Indiana just tipped the scale now every school is going to be doing it and are.

College sports is just big business. Anyone participating in it does whats in their best interest.
Other than that , doubt any of us know anymore than what the media feeds us. And based on my limited reading or listening to sports media, have my doubts about their knowledge level.
