I’m a casual college football fan. But I just heard a good dissertation that the transfer portal and NIL have saved college football.
Now with the NIL for example a college like Indiana University (thanks to Mark Cuban et al) can compete with an Ohio State etc.. SEC was dominant and college football was becoming too regional.
As someone said they used to have to go in the back door with the money, now with NIL they can go in the front door. lol Now there’s transparency.
Still a little too Wild West, but they’ll figure it out. And again, love that the talent (players) are getting a piece of the pie. Only above board now. Lol
