professor propman and Buckeyes gave them all they could handle earlier this year I could readily be very wrong about this but, Oregon is so much more explosive on offense. They'll dismantle PSU.
Walterjn professor I'm inclined to agree with thus assessment. No matter what, it should be a fantastic game to watch.
professor johnnydoom The media is in love with Cam Ward though, so I don’t know. I like the new format. It takes away some of the media bias. Sure is a lot better than Nixon choosing Texas over PSU for National Champions. LOL
ode professor media bias Isn't that true. It took them forever to get to this point but they all should have been beating the drum of a real playoff and it would have happened earlier. Dipshits like Kirk Herbstreet are to blame as he railed against it for years! Makes the games so much more meaningful and just because a team loses a game on two (possibly 3) it doesn't exclude you.
johnnydoom professor I like the new format. I didn't when they first announced it, but that was because I wasn't forward thinking enough to envision the equalizing properties of the NIL policy. With so many teams pretty much equal in stature, I think the 12 team playoff will be a blast and the winner could be any of them. Who knows, Ryan Day might even redeem (or bury) his reputation.
jsippy73 professor Yeah, go get your asses kicked by a worthy opponent. Haven't played many and lost to the one that was most important. LMAO Don't LMAO for too long, there won't be anything left of you. Get some help!!!!!
professor johnnydoom I wish we had a LOL response choice. Because I can agree and laugh at the same time. (Laughing about the Day comment.)
MidwayJ johnnydoom I didn't when they first announced it, but that was because I wasn't forward thinking enough to envision the equalizing properties of the NIL policy. Same. The 12 team playoff has suddenly become more appealing to me with more parity in college football.
ode Not out much thought into this but who gets in if Boise St. loses🤔.....would it simply be UNLV or would Army or Tulane have a shot?
azgreg ode The five highest ranked conference champions are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. I don't think the winner of the AAC will jump ahead of the winner of the MWC.
johnnydoom azgreg Tulane definitely won't - they just lost to Memphis last week. I don't know if Army has a shot or not. The way they got dusted by Notre Dame though I would doubt it.
ode azgreg looking at the rankings it would seem impossible. Tulane screwed themselves by losing to Memphis although they are solid. Likely should all be similarly ranked, Army, Tulane, Memphis, and UNLV.
azgreg ode It's going to be the four P4 champs and the MW champ just like the NCAA (read TV execs) wanted from the beginning.
scotts33 ode I'd like to see UNLV just to watch Brennan Marion's Go-Go offense which some NFL teams are taking part of the Go-Go in their offensive schemes. I'd also like to see Army as all the service academies are the only true college football teams left no NIL no portal. Army plays Navy next weekend love that game!
ode scotts33 Army I was surprised to see them plummet in the rankings as they have 1 loss to what the playoff committee feels is a very good ND team. When all is said and done they will be somewhere between 2-5 depending on how the conf championships shake out and committee members opinions of them. Granted it's hard to rank the non power 5, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Tulane beat Memphis and retained there ranking and then the conf championship vs Army. If Boise loses to UNLV it might have been a tough choice for the committee of UNLV / Army or Tulane. Fun to think of the scenarios. I always thought an interesting way for the non power 5 to get in would be two highest ranked conf champs play for a play in game to the dance. I mean why not. Just based off current rankings Boise is high enough, but why not 2🙃
scotts33 ND's schedule is iffy. Signature win away at Kyle Field 1st game of the season beating Texas A&M. Signature loss at home vs. No. Ill....sheesh. USC win away but USC at 6-6 isn't like the USC of old. The rest of ND's wins were patsies and majority at home. Louisville at home the best team on their schedule but not a juggernaut. Service academies, FSU and the like. I ain't impressed looks like Indiana's soft schedule. I hope the committee looks at SOS when seeding.
ode scotts33 they can only do so much with the conf. champions getting an auto bye, but yes agree, they need to factor that in. I friggin hate ND and at least they cannot get an auto bye as the system is currently set, at least that's how I understand it🤔
johnnydoom Very surprised Alabama is at 11 with 3 losses. I know they beat Georgia, South Carolina (shouldn't have), and Missouri, and didn't play Ole Miss, but I thought they'd squeeze Miami ahead of them given Bama's ugly game at Oklahoma.
