professor Just me @professor way to many negative posts overall on G'Buzz. Yes call it they way you see it but maybe temper some responses as the written word can be taken so many ways. (semantics). Also me but I like your posts in general @professor !

ode 1- Oregon
8-Indiana/9-Boise St

4-Penn St.
5-ND/12-Clemaon

3-Texas
7-Tennessee/10-SMU

2-Georgia
6-Ohio St/11-Arizona St

☝️It goes back to this for me and how it should have been ranked vs how it got seeded due to the conf champs getting automatic byes. It ended up blowing up the seeding. I am still shaking my head at the committee for agreeing to seed that way! That being said it was a step in the right direction and although none of the 1,s made it, if you look at actual ranking, Penn St. and Texas should have had byes. Ohio St. is arguably the best team in the nation, they are definitely playing the best and ND narrowly misses a bye, by a spot. Essentially we have the 3, 4, 5, 6 ranked teams with Oregon and Georgia getting bounced. I think it ended up working out pretty good. Oregon got screwed by the format and Georgia played without there starting QB.

candukid When the season is over, all teams are 0-0. Yesterday's game was yesterday. History is something in the past. And 'names' mean nothing. IYKWIM
How else can I put it?🤔😄

Watching a bit of the Gator bowl with Duke and Ole Miss. There seems to be more empty seats than occupied ones. Pretty sad. It's like the camera crews are intentionally not showing shots of the seats.

Rickochet True. Duke missing its starting quarterback, its back-up quarterback, it's top running back, and both of their top tight ends.

It's not even close to the team they have fielded all year.

professor Also, they need to tweak the Transfer Portal. Allowing the players to enter the Portal before Playoffs/Bowl Games is asinine. Bowl/Playoff Games are supposed to be highlights, not watered down.

Quite a theory, after the fact.
A couple weeks ago, when Oregon beat Penn State? Wonder how you factor that in.

        • ode replied to this.

candukid So if ND wins that means all 4 top seeds lost after a bye. Interesting

Byes don't mean much in college because everybody has multiple weeks off before playing in the playoff, if that's what you meant. If you just meant the top 4 teams lost, carry on.

Meaningless games with many of the best players sitting out. Who wants to travel for that?

Facts that don't seem to be known about the transfer portal and bowl games plus the CFP teams.

1.) An athlete can play in a bowl game if he has entered the transfer portal. Players choice depending on what their NIL contract states. No one knows what NIL contracts state on anything. Example Wisconsin has not released Xavier Lucas as his NIL deal had paid him x $$$ dollars for 2025 but he tried to enter the portal and Wisconsin said no. It looks bad on both sides. I believe they are trying to work this out so Lucas can sign with Miami.
2.) Athletes on teams that compete in the College Football Playoff and later bowl game will be allowed to enter an additional five-day transfer window in January.

I don't understand people who want less college football.

Anyways, if I was in charge of the playoffs I would expand to 16 teams and have the championship game on New Year's day in teh Rose Bowl every year.

scotts33 Good to know, it is interesting to me to know why some players don't play. Where is the influence and pressure coming from. Players clearly are trying to find teams that will essentially give them a place to play but may demand no injury risk. Assuming parents are telling them not to get hurt with projections of future NFL money. let along NIL money. Plus, players are falsely believing this hype. The Louisville PUNTER said he did not play in the bowl game due to a NIL promise that was not met back in Sep '24. The punter gets NIL??

BTW, the only player I have seen in a commercial is Bama QB Milroe. And frankly, I did not recognize him until they pasted his name. So just paying them to play not for their name.

ode favorably, although I'm not sure why you are asking🤔.

I could answer that for you if you were in the Water Hazzard. The short answer would be that he just can't help himself.

                Bravopilot The punter gets NIL??

Yes there were 2500 student-athletes ☺ in the NCAA transfer portal last year. If the player can get a university to pay them and they want him that bad they'll pay placekickers and punters maybe even long snappers.

Bravopilot Where is the influence and pressure coming from.

Mostly parents but also the university they are going to but that should tell the player that if the university that they are going to doesn't want me to play what does that say about that university and coaching staff.

jsippy73 I dunno, but Oregon is the only team that has beat all of the teams they played. Decent chance they will have wins over the two final teams in the Championship game. Ohio St. will be favored over Texas; ND/PSU likely pick em or ~ 1 point either way!
