So I waited until this last Saturday to pad my piggy bank as it was our season finale mens club event. Good thing grabbed another $125 cool. Now I went and saw our pro about ordering a set for me. He’s never heard of Maltby or Golfworks? I had him pull it up on the computer and he’s like yeah I’m not sure about ordering these. He acted like I was asking for a vacuum off Amazon or something lol. He has accounts through all the big names and he had zero problems ordering my clickgear cart but I’ve stumped him on these. He’s looking into it so I might be fine. Either way I’m still getting these and I’m not in a huge hurry with winter creeping up. I was a bit surprised that he’s 60 years old and been in the business since out of college and never heard of them. I’m torn between the IMs or TE+ V4s in black finish. Those black ones I think I gotta have

pellmell can’t wait for some pics and your thoughts on feel and flight etc. I’m coming from Pxg 0211s. Like those but they get a little chunky and driving ironish in the longer irons. Looking for hopefully softer feel and a little more launch/ spin is my hopes. I understand the lofts are higher too so this automatically should help

Spuzz plus if he's not into clubmaking or posts on forums where clubmaking is a regular topic, I suspect he travels in big OEM circles only, and would not know about component options.

What shafts are you using in your pxg irons? I could send you a TS2 or TS1-IM to test with.

        bigshank

Do you know if you’re standard length? I’ve got a set of elevate 95 pulls at home.

colej yeah I play r flex in them standard length. What flex and makeup of those you got?

Used the TE+ black irons for the first time today, no range time, straight to the first tee. Weather not ideal, 15-20 mph winds , temp 55-60. I had some expectations considering it's Maltby, and they didn't disappoint. These are adjusted one degree strong, one degree upright, the trajectory is ideal, didn't balloon into the wind and plenty of height downwind. Off center strikes have a click sound/feel, but flushed shots are buttery smooth.

pellmell Darn those look good. I was debating building a set of TS-IM or TS3 this winter, but now I have to build a TE+ demo too.

KCee just ordered the TSI-IMs. Considering buying those black ones and pulling some shafts for those. I think I gotta have both

bigshank I talked my dad, who is 76 years old, into purchasing his final new set of irons from golfworks. We bought the club pak and they custom assembled for free. STi2 Kuro Kage A flex. They are gorgeous and he absolutely loves them. I was proud, I have been playing component made clubs since I was 18. Golfworks irons take a back seat to noone. There Drivers? I haven't had the best of luck with the few that I have tried.

I’m pumped to get them in my hands. I ordered the club pack 5-gw. They are building them and bending them for me. Depending on how I like that score lt shaft they offer will determine if I use a different shaft in the black forged set. I like the looks of that black finish

Agree! Component irons seem to be more on par with OEM, but not drivers.

sdandrea1 the TC Max is pretty damn good.....but it will never generate the buzz needed like the GW irons have done!

It's been years since I even looked at any component irons, but this thread got me curious about the Maltby offerings. Those TS-3 look fabulous! Pretty pricey, though, but I've been going back looking at reviews of TS-2, STi2, KE4 Max, etc., including the Popeye thread on GolfWRX. Dang this site! 😆

                      MidwayJ Those TS-3 look fabulous!

They feel and play that way also. Forged feel, nice launch and look good.
I'm about to try the TE+ V4 black soon..... 🏌
