It's an outlier. Most other polls have him in the upper 30's to low 40's favorability. Rasmussen's methodology is suspect. They polled likely voters when there is no election. It was always known for being favorable to Republicans.
If anyone saw Trump's press conference last week they got a good example of his pathological lying. Peter Alexander of NBC News challenged him on saying he won more electoral votes than any president since Reagan. Of course he was lying. When caught he said something like 'they just handed me this' and 'I've read it somewhere'.
This is where the free press is needed most. Without it our democracy it's toast. Been away for the weekend, but someone mentioned the media is all opinion these days. That's not entirely true. While many of the cable news political shows do have many who offer opinions there are many in the press / media who do straight reporting without commentary or opinion.
The job of a fee press is to be an adversary as John McCain said recently. We need the press to keep challenging the Trump administration on all it's lies. Trump is a very insecure man with a fragile ego. I hate to think how he'll react if we encounter a real crisis or threat. It's evident that what was said of him in the campaign is true. He doesn't have the temperament to be president.
