Par4QC Trackman is a machine. How often do you calibrate/check calibration of those machines? And who does that?
Ok so the camera based Launch Monitor suck as the GC Quad does need to be calibrated but only for “center line”. There is a “box” on the screen and as long as the ball is in the box, it’ll read the shot. But if you are not on the center line then direction/starting line will be off. There are no settings for distance. You can fiddle with wind, ground hardness, elevation to effect distance but those are just boxes you click… no calibration.
Trackman also doesn’t have distance calibration. You can “normalize” the results for perfect weather when you’re fitting someone in crap weather. There is a calibrate setting but it sets the start line like the Quad does….but it’s more precise. You put the crosshairs on the ball and go. What sucks, and doesn’t know bout PGA tour events, if you tee up on the other side of the tee box, unless someone is sitting there with a laptop to line up the crosshairs, the numbers won’t be right.
