Jelopster Anyone interested in these?

Sure, but only if the set comes with a 2 iron. 🙄

They look awesome, but probably would only fit me on my best days.

I am impressed that the foam is proprietary. My irons just have generic foam. Clone foam if you will.

sdandrea1 Yeah, some of these companies leave people like me and you completely out, at any price. Can't buy individual heads, and even sets of 6-PW, AW have a couple clubs we seldom/never/hardly ever use. Money is money; no sense spending it on something never to be used.

Typhoon we gotta come up with our own DTC branding. You and @scotts33 can do fittings. LB already in charge of grounds. We need someone to run the show. Entertainment is @sdandrea1 and his geezers, as well as any conflicts that come, he runs the mediations🙃. I'll take on the tap list selection and talk beer with anyone who wants to, and other than that I'll be on the course😉

      a year later

YouTube review of the 579 irons. He did not like them. Sound, feel, distance, forgiveness, tolerances not as good as all the other budget irons he’s tested recently.

Don’t shoot me, I’m only the messenger. It’s surprising to see a YouTube review that isn’t gushing over the product being reviewed. Especially from this guy.

DonM 1 of the derogatory remarks he made had me thinking what an idiot...can't read/understand. But when I checked the SMT website, I see why he made the comment, and was correct in doing so. The comment was about the specs being off as much as 2. But, anyone using components already knows/should know, they are going to be off, normally with a +/- of 2-3, but almost always stated in the specs chart.
The fault lies in the specs chart on the website.....no +/-, so I'd 'kinda' be pissed if my heads came and were 2* off what is shown, and didn't already they are going to be off.

And I've made up my mind...I never want "Adam" building any clubs for me. Don't know shit from shinola.

He is an idiot though, if he thinks sets of clubs in stores are true to specs!! I've found some off even more than the +/- 2-3*.

I've looked at these heads a few times, just this week. At some point this season, I will get them. Just not right now, and the review does not change my mind.

        DonM hahaha, No worries.

        So I ask -

At the :27 mark at the beginning he claims that "They are made in the EXACT same factory...."

At the 7:07 mark, he is trying brush that off by saying.... "That is what you get.....

So, which pony does he want to ride?

        hahahahaha...

At 7:17 - he says : I have 150 on the button here and that is a perfect 8 iron...

At 8:58, next hole he has 173 yards and goes 7 iron. - A 23 yard variance between his 8 iron and 7 iron shot.

        So, makeshift par 3..

At 10:48 he says that he hit the ball too high
At 10;52 he hits a really bad chip and says... :good thing I have this putter to save the SMT irons. hahahahaha

          DonM

He’s from my neck of the woods. His channel is called Let’s Play Thru. He shoots his videos at Carrollwood Country Club in Tampa I believe.

Played there once. Nice private club that you need to know someone to get you on.

He used to test clubs at the Edwin Watts on Dale Mabry in Tampa. But that’s closed now and he uses the newer PGA Store also on Dale Mabry.

hahaha at 16:36 he mentions that he is not thrilled with the stopping power.

at 16:38 he says... "That's probably why we missed a couple greens that he claims he hit the green... but it rolled off. Except, his own video shows that he was short on other attempts from the rough and fairway. Good to know that even though he has a Youtube page, he can still blame "stopping power" on missing 7 holes of greens.

SMT And he equates distance to forgiveness. The ball did not go high enough so it's not 'forgiving', migawd???
            😄Hell, hit the ball properly!

Sneakylong But on Hole #7 that was closed, he mentioned that "the city...." I have never seen a city worked get involved at a private club.
