Where I grew up many moons ago in Huntington Beach,Ca., at one time we
had the longest pier on the west coast.....til a couple hurricanes made the pier
a little shorter.

The Reds and "Opening Day" is a huge deal, in this area. Damn near a holiday. As much as I love baseball, I've never been, nor have the desire to partake in that mess.
LBlack14 been to a few Brewer openers at the old county stadium.....best is to link up with a tavern and get a bus ride down and enjoy their tent and festivities in the lot before going in (if that's a thing
).....that way transport back is taken care of and one does not need to lay off the sauce
. The best part about it is going with a group and having fun. Whilst Miller Park (is it still called that
) is cool the modern stadium has 0 character!

Titusville has an interesting and important history indeed in the context of industrial advancement of the petroleum economy, but oil was discovered millennia earlier and certainly not there. I think it would be far more fair to say "where the first major oil production well in the USA was drilled"

Yeah, same here. Its like 20's with wind chill too. The Detroit Tigers have it right, I think they don't play a home game until May because of the cold at their place

All you had to so was say, 'you are right... this was the first place in the continental US where oil was drilled'... and then leave it at that. Why is that so hard? Why get defensive and call names?
