I used to really like Ping Zing 2s... Eventually after collecting, buying and selling enough vintage blades I developed a taste for offset that's less than several inches like the Pings were. Sole width comes into play once I can see the back of the club behind the top line at address.

sdandrea1 It’s no so much looks as it is how it works when you hit it. I’ve played some irons when I get rental sets that weren’t the best looking clubs but I hit them fine.

Typhoon Have you ever hit a ball bad (sorry, my bad for not reading) regardless of the club?😎 I tried the old Adams hybrids and could not past the size when swinging, kept thinking I'm going to dig a hole. Play (really just have them in the bag, played a few rounds in '22) Maverick Max now, seems the right size.

Ping G series type is usually too much for me. Weirdly I struggle with irons that look medium size to me. I tried a LOT of different irons at my last fitting the best by far were the P770 and Miura cavity backs.

You don't count - you could break par with a baseball bat. 😂

I’m curious enough to try any club but gravitate quickly to what works better. 🏌️‍♂️

Largest profile irons I’ve played are PING. I’d never say never but I’m unlikely to go any bigger. I’m not sure if one was larger than the other but G25 and G410 are the largest Ive played. My 2022 gamers were the G410 and maybe again in 2023.

The smallest profile irons I recall playing in recent years are the Adams Idea Pro Gold forged.

I may or may not have the PXG 0211’s in the bag for 2023. If so, the reason would be to switch from DG105 in the PINGs to Recoil Darts in the 0211s.

I played various ping irons for 20 years or so. Ping G5s, I5s, G10s, G15 and G400s. Last time was G410s and 700s. The 700s and 410s felt hard and clicky. Just couldn’t do them. My son in law loves the 410s I gave him. 700s we’re too big. Been playing the Pxg 0211s the last year and am happy with those. I’d say they are on my larger side I can play. They start to push the boundaries on the 5 iron for me. The older pings finish I really liked with no ferrule too.

          Sounds like a plan.

I was finally able to hit some balls off the artificial turf (++) range at my club today and the young
Assistant Pro stoped by to show me his new Cobra RF custom irons. Lovely. It was a pleasure to watch
him hit towering shots with those butter knifes. I tried them for a few shots and was surprised that
I could hit them decently for my senior swing.

Finally able to hit a few. 🏌

Once again tonight I stayed way from hitting the Mavrik indoors. I tried another guys Ping i20’s. Not much better. Went back to the much smaller Titleist T-mb irons and hit everything solid.
