What’s your Iron Size Limit?
- Edited
No blobbies here. Most blobby irons I owned were X16 pro series.
TMP790 is my max too. I prefer skinny bottoms.

Too big would be the g700, which is massive.
Players shovels for me all day long. Blades and smallish players irons are fun to look at though.
Some G710s would be heaven!

Not sure I have one. Three iron sets: 1971 Wilson blades, 2006 Ping Raptures, and Alpha C1 Pro irons of unknown date, but probably around the same as the Pings. I hit them all equally good and bad except that left-right dispersion decreases with the game improvement technology (or workability decreases if you are a better player). As far as turf interaction goes I’m not sure it matters to me. The blades feel better on good hits and worse on bad. They also don’t feel as wonderful as I remember from the days of wound balls.
Forgot that I also have Tech Power Forged, which are basically a low budget version of the Alpha players cavity. Actually shot my lowest scores with them.
I used to really like Ping Zing 2s... Eventually after collecting, buying and selling enough vintage blades I developed a taste for offset that's less than several inches like the Pings were. Sole width comes into play once I can see the back of the club behind the top line at address.
I've managed to ignore looks in deference to what the ball does.

Typhoon Have you ever hit a ball bad (sorry, my bad for not reading) regardless of the club? I tried the old Adams hybrids and could not past the size when swinging, kept thinking I'm going to dig a hole. Play (really just have them in the bag, played a few rounds in '22) Maverick Max now, seems the right size.
Ping G series type is usually too much for me. Weirdly I struggle with irons that look medium size to me. I tried a LOT of different irons at my last fitting the best by far were the P770 and Miura cavity backs.
