Looking for recent feedback on Shorter Length Drivers
JeffTilley What is it for the LPGA? Some of them are using drivers taller than they are, or so it appears on TV at times. I know Brooke uses a long one.
Typhoon FYI you driver distance should be 2x your PW (45-48 degree) carry distance.
Almost exactly for me. Unfortunately, my driver only goes 220 or so

Seems to be spot on with my 44"1/2 driver. That's what I prefer: a mid-low trajectory shaft in 65-70gr range at 44"1./2 and D0 swingweight. I seem to loose control going lighter and longer.
Luc_Van_Daele Heavier weight is the answer to keeping the height down. My pro has a Cobra Rad Speed driver that he hits too high. It has a HZRDUS Blue in it at 60 grams and he wanted me to tip trim it an inch. I told him no, not wrecking the shaft by doing that. It’s already a low spin shaft and his spin is fine. He just hits it 34 yards high. I told him he needed a heavier shaft. I applied strips of lead tape to the middle of the shaft, 10 grams 14” down from the grip. It brought his height down to 27 yards…. Right where he wanted it.

Trade ya?!
sdandrea1 Trade ya?!
If you give me a piece of your short game, yes!
colej I used to be similar, I hit down too much and the ball went too high w too much spin. I literally used to use distance balls to cut my spin down . Now that I “stopped” leading w my hands and not being so steep, I’m getting much better distance from the irons. I also get to use real golf balls now, so I don’t have to hit a chip and run at everything around the greens. YMMV, but that’s what I had to get away from.
