  • Looking for recent feedback on Shorter Length Drivers

I settled on 45.25” a long time ago.

Typhoon I can’t achieve that 2x number, and I think my driver works pretty well. Maybe it doesn’t.

toraider I guess you missed it

    Indeed I did.
My eyes were blurry from the excruciating pain I was in.
Most guys would have quit and called for the towel and water bottle guy from the sidelines
    😉

I started with short steel drivers (43.5) and hit them well, but when graphite became popular (and better made) I slowly creeped up to over 45".
At first, I used 90g shafts to keep the total weight up (and length under 44") but then lighter and longer became the norm.
Maybe Senior (Old Man as per you) flex but at 85g and maybe 44" finished length?
I think that may work for you.

I find 44.5” works best for me, along with a lower tee height. I hit more fairways AND get much better rollout. I believe I read somewhere that the PGA driver length average was 44.5”, so if it works for the pros……..

JeffTilley What is it for the LPGA? Some of them are using drivers taller than they are, or so it appears on TV at times. I know Brooke uses a long one.

colej you got something real funky going on. Under 130 with a wedge, but 270 with driver? These do not add up.

Par4QC Not any more. She had to go shorter remember?

Forgot that. My brain is mush right now and I've still got 2 flights and 3000 miles to go. Travel whimp I am.

Typhoon FYI you driver distance should be 2x your PW (45-48 degree) carry distance.

Almost exactly for me. Unfortunately, my driver only goes 220 or so 😦
