Costco was $3.42 the other day, about .20¢ cheaper than most stations in that neighboring city, which was about .20¢ cheaper than my local city. It shot up to $3.99 here a day or 2 ago.

Boonies it is. I'm about 75-80 miles NE of Sioux Falls, SD, in farm country. There's nothing here but corn, soy beans
pigs and cattle. The town I live in has only between 2000-2500 people. What passes for big towns around here are
Marshall, MN and Worthington, MN. They both have a population of 13,000+. We're roughly 30 miles from each.
The only place of any size at all is Sioux Falls, SD (around 190,000).

      2700 pop.,75-80 mi. South of Champaign. 20 mi. to Charleston(EIU), 18,000+/- & Mattoon, 18,000+/-. 30 mi. from Terre Haute, IN. Farms & animals are the norm. And gravel roads.

          Golf course?

              Paid 3.069 the other day. Most places are in the 3-teens and twenties though.

              It's like trying to hit a moving target around here.....the bastards keep moving the low prices from one part
              of town to another. Friday, the local station we always drive past was $3.55. On the other side of town, it
              was $3.19, so I filled up. When I went to Cleveland last week in it was $3.09, but my son said all he'd seen close to his home was $3.40's.

              $3.49 at a Neighborhood Walmart in Las Cruces--they are $.20 lower than the corner stations.

              Yes there is a 9 hole golf course. It used to be one of the best kept courses in the area but 3 consecutive years of multiple floods set it back a long ways. We lost a lot of members while the course was closed due to water sitting on it. I, myself didn't join for three years because I knew we were only going to be open for half of the season at most. The grass on eight of the nine holes died, fairways and rough. We were just holding on financially even before that due to the downturn in popularity of golf overall. I thought the course would close permanently but it held on due to the donations of several members. I rejoined this year because finally there is enough grass to play again. It's still got a long way to go.
              I don't know if it will ever get back to the beautiful course it used to be. The only reason it was able to come back at all was the donations and because it sets on land owned by the city and we received quite a bit of FEMA money because of the flooding. That money went to repairing one of the bridges that was lost in the flooding. A creek winds through the course making you play beside or across water on eight of the nine holes. On some of the holes you play both across and beside water. There are five bridges on the course. Erosion has been quite a problem and much of the money FEMA
              provided went to adding more rip rapping (rocks placed on the banks of the creek to prevent/stop the erosion). The course never used to flood this badly because a narrow bridge just upstream of the course acted as sort of a damn, only letting so much water through at once but the county replaced that bridge with a new modern wide bridge and did a lot of work on the creek bed upstream. Now a small private bridge on a farm driveway just downstream of the course is the first blockage and water backs up onto the course whenever there is a big rain. it's too bad. It used to be a beautiful little course. It's not like there aren't enough courses close by. Within about a forty minute drive there are nine more courses. I joined another course during the past three seasons but it's sure a lot nicer driving only a little over a mile to get to this course that driving elsewhere, even the closest course is only about 15 minutes away and the next closest is just 20 minutes away.

                  Back over $6 per gallon in SoCal today.

                  Same price here essentially in B.C - gas prices have been steadily trending upwards since last week -currently at about $2.30/litre CAD or around $6/gallon

                  In 24 hrs. the price went $3.83-$3.65-$3.89 now. WTH? Ain't no damn $3 gas. Never will be again.
