The basil flowering indicates it's time to harvest and make one of my favorite dishes : pasta with pesto : basil, pine nuts, garlic and olive oil in the blender; done. Sprinckle with parmezan and pecccorino cheese.
Have already 1/2 lb of basil in the freeser to get me trough the winter, but still some left to harvest later.
