DonM Could be that the amount of damaging rays coming through is higher now because of depletion of the ozone layer?
Could also be that out ancestors were also smart enough to stay in the shade when available and to wear broad-brimmed hats when it wasn't? Could also be that a lot of our ancestors generations ago died before they were old enough to reap the consequences of too much UV radiation? Or maybe a combination of all those things?
I started wearing sun sleeves about three seasons ago and definitely prefer them to wearing sunscreen on my arms. Not really blld enough to go with sun sleeves on my legs. I also always wear a broad Tilley hat.
Sometimes when it is really hot and I have to play a course without many trees I take an umbrella. Guys usually make fun of me on the first tee but by the eighth hole or so they are asking if they can borrow it.
