I no longer golf and use sun screen sparingly anymore as I don't spend an enormous amount of time out in the sun. But yes, I think it is always prudent to avoid excessive exposure to the sun's radiation.
I also think it's important to investigate and do some diligent personal research on the chemicals that are used to make sun screen. Not everything being marketed is as safe as the company alleges it to be. And the reason for that isn't necessarily due to the company withholding that information, but rather that research in a lot of sprays, deodorants, creams and powders continues today and sometimes these studies reveal that these chemicals used that were once considered safe are now being considered potentially cancerous in long-term use instances.
Consumer awareness is important.
