I prefer Golf Digest. Golf tips magazine is a nice supplement....low price

I don't get either magazine, haven't for years. Everything's online now. No need to pay for a subscription and have it delivered.

Back when I did partake of those type subscriptions, Golf Digest just seemed less commercial and more golfer-based. But haven't read one of their magazines in years, so I'm not sure if that might've changed.

I've pretty much stopped going to the local golf shows. My buddies are like, "are you crazy? you get all these freebies, Golf magazine, Golf digest, etc."

One - I'm not that interested in golf equipment to travel 90 minutes and walk around for 6 hours to see mostly what I call gimmicky stuff. Even when I check out the golf equipment, there are never the same options for lefties... always having to demo stuff that either isn't spec'd like I need it to be, or stuff that I'd never purchase to begin with. And then, all of those freebies... spam city. They gotta have a current email address to get in for the reduced price. Still sending unsubscribe forms out a year later from all the crap I've received since going to the one in Jersey last winter.

No thanks. Not my cup of tea, not even during the doldrums of winter.

What timing. Got both issues in the mail today.

I get Golf Magazine free from Sky Golf because I renew my annual subscription for my golf caddy. I stopped getting it when the same thing is basically shown every year. I did like revues of new equipment every year even though it is prejudicial based on OEM sponsors in the Mag. I used to get both Golf and Golf Digest and cut out the tips. I made a booklet of tips putting each in a category such as driver, iron, short game, bunker play, and putting. I especially liked the full swing fold out that they have. I referred to that booklet for some years but got tired of seeing one pro saying to it this way and another pro saying just the opposite more often than not. Now that it is free I still browse though it but if I had to buy it I wouldn't do it today any longer. I stopped getting GD a couple of years ago but I bought some golf stuff and got a free GD subscription because of it. It takes me about 10 minutes of less to go through them now.

Thanks for the input, fellas. Ended up ordering both. Free (with 5-6 other subscriptions) for left over miles on an unnamed AAirline that I wish to never use again.

My Global Golf habit keeps me in Golf Digest, and I get Golf Magazine for some unknown reason, since I do not subscribe. I find them both OK, but repetitive. Same stuff different month. Equipment reviews are informative on specs and design, but I read the same ass-kissing diatribe on every club. I do like the swing tips for geezers that show up occasionally. I find many of the articles interesting, tho. I usually scan them, read what catches my eye and then recycle.

I got both for a long time. Golf became my preference just to read Feherty.
Subscribed to both a few years ago and they will expire soon, not to be renewed.

If I got anything in the future it would be Golfweek, but don't play enough to justify it. Plus seeing all the new equipment gets me thinking and I don't want to buy anymore.

They both stink, IMO. Hit every fairway, make every out, yada yada.

Links magazine, on the other hand, is awesome, but it's mostly about golf courses and golf course architecture. I'd take one issue of Links over two years of either of those other magazines any time.

Used to get both, neither now. I liked the WITB and some of the human interest stories, but those became less interesting. Wish they'dve done more LPGA stuff, but no. I don't miss either as they were all red flagged from library use only. 😁

potbunker Golfweek was always my favorite, but it's not one of the options at this time.

rsvman I like Links, too, but I think it's sole purpose is to sell real estate. Besides that, some pretty interesting articles and great photos.

Get Golf now for free, don't know where from. It's a lot like Soap Opera Digest, not much substance. GD contradicts itself constantly, usually in the same issue. Hold your grip in your fingers, no, grip it in your palm. Golf Tips is a better mag, more substance, but it's thin and only publishes part of the year. I can live without any of them.

I was getting free issues to both Golf and Golf Digest in the mail until last fall AND also Golfweek online. I would set Golf and Golf Digest aside in a pile and 'would get to them when I had time'. They are still there collecting dust. I do read Golfweek even though I think the online version is clumsy to use. I especially like the insight from 'The Man Out Front' and some of the personal interviews. But, I won't be renewing that again either.

I get enough freebie newsletters to keep my appetite satisfied for golf news. As for tips, I've found 'google' and 'youtube' to be my friend.

Golfweek, I like the stats and quick somewhat current articles while in the home office.
