Provisional DTG-HUR-JASON I saw this post and took liberty to send him my super senior bio for drivers too since I broke my G15 shaft today Shaft selection is just too complex but don't have good fitter nearby or spare $ that I've found so will use your DTG guy's recommendation . This will be my first driver reshaft try.
Release I had a few loaded in the cart and , no go. Just paid some bills for the kids. Tuition and room...... credit card kept sending me notice of exceeding the warning limit...... Insurance and taxes are coming up in a few months.... wonderful American dream. I'll need to moonlight a part time job, problem is, not a whole lot positions for senior. I speak 3 languages and write in two. I have experience in marketing and new business development......... looks like the current offering are all in the $10-$15 per hour start up jobs. Cooking for elementary students ? LOL, there must be better use for me.
Provisional Dan Peck called this morning to discuss Bassara shafts with me to replace broken TFC Ping G 15 shaft Very knowledgeable and understanding man. Listened with great patience to my DA rambling bless his heart! Decided to try E series Bassara which I'm very excited to give a try. The broken Ping shaft didn't want to let go but heat gun and pliers won out. Not sure If I can pull one for reuse though if needed . Forgot I'd made up a shaft puller, should have used it instead of muscle, duh. DTG is great ! THANKS SO MUCH ! This job requires 0.335 to 0.350" adapter which is coming with ferrule and shaft Any advice guys? I have glass beads & DTG epoxy
mulegolf I just ordered 6 of the Bassara blue irons shafts yesterday. Great deal! I have a set of Adams New Idea hybrids/irons that had these shafts in the hybrids and steel in the 6-gap wedge. I'm planning on subbing the Bassara's for the lite steel shafts. I have no real issues on the performance of the lite steel shafts that came in the irons but I seem to develop tendonitis in my elbows and noticed it coming on last year when I played a bit more golf. I haven't had that result with graphite shafts so I'm back on the graphite band wagon. Now my only problem is finding Adams Tour midsize grips which I also got from DTG last year (but they no longer have). I guess I'll either have to switch to another brand midsize grip or add a few wraps of build-up tape under standard size Adams Tour grips (which DTG still has).
Release mulegolf Add two wraps of the painter's tape ( slightly thicker ) if you use air to install the grips. It'll be fine. Dip the opening end of the grip in mineral spirit before you slip it on the shaft, piece of cake.
Release I use painter's tape because it is slightly thicker than the masking tape and it had a rough surface for gripping the rubber, plus it is much easier to remove later on if I need to. No issue when installing the grips with air A dip cup with mineral spirit will make it easy to slip on the open end of the grip to get it going. Depending on how thick a build up, sometimes I use duct tape. When I need to build up the putter's grip , it might take more than 10 wraps of masking tapes, where 2-3 layers of duct tape will do the same. Always put a layer of painter's tape on first for the same reason of ease of removal later on.
ode I've used duct tape for build up.....With success....Sure some would frown upon it, but works well. Also re the Mitsubishi shafts, ordered a 8q3, 7x3, code7, and radix 8,. Am good to go for my fly z, f6 expiraments!
Release ode Also re the Mitsubishi shafts, ordered a 8q3, 7x3, code7, and radix 8,. Am good to go for my fly z, f6 expiraments! You are catching up..... need more shafts and heads ( a different loft ).
ode LBlack14 yep....Q is red tie, X is the white tie, M is black tie.....Radix is pretty underrated IMO.
LBlack14 ode Yeah, but you said "re Mitsubishi shafts", not Matrix.😁 I have a Matrix 5m3 & 7m3 on the way. They go in the Z545.
Hoss7504 ode I've been using the Radix for a while now and think it's great. Doesn't get a lot of love, but it should!
