DonM To me, it's just another Tour. I don't search for nor watch it myself. I used to watch all the European Tour tournaments but never catch them any more either. Nice they could all grab some big loot, and I have nothing against that or them. They do not pay my bills. Plus, some of those guys were getting kinda 'stale' on the PGA, I will except Smith. Liked watching him and he was getting to be the big deal on the PGA. Other than that, mehhh. I like seeing the new guys coming up get a lot of chances to play now. They prove there will never be another TW as they all are winning/taking turns, so to speak. JT, Rory, Rahm, Scottie are never going to win them all. And that is great for golf. Keeps the little kids looking forward when no one is super dominant like TW was. They know they all have a chance to win when they get there.

Watched it for a little bit, it's pretty easy to find CW with a Firestick VR.
LIV kind of has the feeling your watching a corporate outing or a celebrity golf event,
as opposed to watching a bunch of pro golfers in a meaningful competition. IMO
The way they have the leader board on the left side of the screen can be a little annoying.
Plus I think they should spend a little more time on each players shot, it seems as soon as the ball is hit from
the fairway and the ball lands, they immediately jump to another player.....no reaction factor provided!
Bob Parsons, PXG take on LIV:
_The PXG website has also removed all LIV golfers from the page, and Parsons feels strongly about not including them in his plans going forward.
“With the stuff that went down [on] 9/11, I have a hard time getting involved with [LIV]. I know, sometimes, bygones got to be bygones, and I’ve forgiven a lot of people. One of them is Jane Fonda for what she did during the Vietnam War. I’m no longer angry at her. I get it. She was young and stupid. But I just cannot bring myself to do anything with [LIV], and the guys who are heroes, they all agree with that.”
Pat Perez, Patrick Reed, Hudson Swafford, and Jason Kokrak all were under contract with PXG when they switched to LIV from the PGA Tour, but once their contracts ran out, they were not renewed.
“We’ve had some guys that had contracts that went on that tour, and I honored the contracts,” said the former Marine. “But now that the contracts are up, I have no contract with them, and I don’t think they can contract with sponsors with the LIV tour, at least. I don’t know. I could be speaking out of school, but if I had an opportunity to come up and do it, I wouldn’t do it.”_
rsvman2 agreed on the PGA portion, and have always advocated for showing more shots....that being said I still prefer it to LIV....and the events I've watched ...the courses look like LPGA courses. As Darpar points out the event looks like a cross between the celebrity event on Lake Tahoe and a corporate event. I cannot take it seriously at all....but that does.not mean I couldn't get some enjoyment out of it....I just havent yet. Hopefully the broadcast crews take note of what fans of golf want , not just check the boxes the sponsors want checked!

It's Parson's company and his to risk. The LIV to Saudi connection has definitely changed some player's incomes in both directions. Players need to weigh the math on sponsor income vs winnings and sponsors need to weigh the math on ROI ftom sponsored players. What wins on Sunday sells on Monday?

Eguller I find it humorous that he finds fault with 1 country(s) but not the ones he gets all his components from!
Indirectly, those countries he still deals with have killed more Americans than 911 ever did.
But he probably has forgiven the COVID outbreak, and the Vietnam war, along with all the 'immigrants' climbing over walls near his house.
Bless his heart......
I understand the majority involvement Saudis had in 9/11, but the royalty rounded up and killed hundreds of terrorists shortly thereafter - presumably at the behest of, and probably with the help of U.S. officials. Parsons, and anyone else is free to hate them for whatever reasons they have, but they are not considered an enemy of the state.
sdandrea1 It's Parson's company and his to risk.
True. I wonder about the behind the scenes discussions leading up to his decision to not renew
contracts for LIV pros such as Perez, Cheater, etc. as well as his not supporting LIV futures. HIs
$$ to support who he wishes. Seems it is more than dollars and cents.
I didn't realize PXG sponsored any pros, I thought that was one of their selling points.

Being an anti LIV guy I applaud Parsons for this. LIV has to make some big changes to compete with the PGA Tour.
I don’t care how much talent you have on paper. No exhibition tour can compete with the PGA Tour and real competition.
It’s like having A list actors taking the big bucks, but being in shitty movies. Nobody cares.

Sneakylong The movie is crappy because you decided it was, before you even saw it.
Let's take your argument to its logical conclusion. What if every single one of the top 80 players in the world went to an alternate tour, leaving only a bunch of unknowns on the PGA tour. Would the PGA still be more interesting? What if the alternate tour expanded and took every single one of the top 200 players in the world, leaving a bunch of also-rans on the PGA tour. Would the PGA tour still be more interesting? If so, why? Because they are playing 72 holes? Because they play tournaments with names you recognize?
The answer is that the new tour would be better, amd the PGA would be worse, because it is neither the name of a tournament nor its number of rounds that decides whether it is interesting. It is the quality of play and the competition.
You decided you didn't like it because of how it was funded, and that's fine; that's your prerogative. But at least be honest about it.
rsvman2 tournaments with names you recognize?
And how many of those recognizable names do business in/with Saudi Arabia? Thus, some of the money for the funding of those tournaments might indirectly come from.......
And where do all the clubs come from that all the players, everywhere/every tour, use?
People get their heads up their asses over 1 thing yet not about another thing.....that is actually the same damn thing!!
And @Sneakylong ALL sporting events, now and throughout history, have been "exhibitions".....by definition.
And here you thought you were slandering/slurring something.
Eguller Seems similar to autos
Sneaky only drives American made. You know what I mean.....something from the '70s perhaps, possibly the last time they were all American made.
Club components come from everywhere, yet people have to have them in order to play. And they buy them no matter. Even Sneaky does.
Hell, check out some of the food in the grocery stores. Everyone WANTS to think it all comes from American farmers.
