Super League Predictions
Par4QC In case you haven't been watching the past few years, since that rule was put in place
I am talking about other golfers, not the ones associated with the organizational side of things, and of course, nothing would be said in public.
The thing is, nothing has been settled in court.
I realize that the PGA feels it has a no lose case and that may be why these cowards are shooting their mouths off now.
However, if they lose, then what? All the supposed tension has been, and still is, coming from one side.
I hope they eat shit for it.
Typhoon Most people will, but there appears to be a percentage of people that the negativity appeals to. They seem to know, or at least think, that they can’t get a broad general audience in these days of 200 channels and the WWW. I don’t understand what the appeal is any more than you do, but some are drawn to it. Negativity seems to get more attention and hits and now even ordinary activities are competitions between groups. There is little I like about any of the all sports or all news channels anymore. When I do watch TV, it’s usually a specific event, a food channel or a family channel anymore.
Par4QC That's partly why I still have some respect for Phil. He came to The Travelers for years when other big names did not. It was a Buick Open back when they sponsored Tiger and he never came.
Once you put a tournament the week before or after a major you lose most of the big names. These days they send private jets to the US Open to pick the players and family up.....it was easier this year with the venue only a couple of hours away.
I think the PGA Tour should adopt a rotation where the top players have to play at certain tournaments every few years.
They may end up doing this. Some tournaments are going to get screwed next year. One of them being the Valspar here in the Tampa area.
Sneakylong I think the PGA Tour should adopt a rotation where the top players have to play at certain tournaments every few years.
I thought that had been on place for a few years already.(??) Not something that was forced though, a voluntary choosing. Therein lies the problem. I do agree, they should have to play EVERY tournament, at some point. Next year is going to be even worse for our local JDC, with the outrageous purse that Norman has caused for the Scottish Open. bastard.
johnnydoom the negativity appeals to
It is a 1 sided affair though. People are only going to see/hear whatever the PGA is putting out. Norman better get his act together and do some advertising. Point/counterpoint.
Communism rules where it is the only thing preached/taught/allowed!
KCee Once you put a tournament the week before or after a major you lose most of the big names
Our National Open was stuck in this spot for years, or in Sept where the weather can be iffy and most of the names have packed it in (n the old days)
Tiger came his rookie year, won it, and never came back again, except to shill for Amex of course, with a kids' clinic LOL
Growing the game my ass!
Spuzz Rahm's complaint is the same old complaint about those making the numbers for next year should not block those trying to qual for next year. His buddy is at risk of not making the DP Tour exempt next year due to poor play this year. This complaint has been around for a long time.
Spuzz Tiger came his rookie year, won it, and never came back again
At least came once! The former GHO now Travelers had multiple sponsors that Tiger got paychecks from, but I doubt he thought twice about coming here. In his defense we have no Waffle Houses here and our gentleman's clubs are pretty poor, but.....well yeah it's no wonder he never showed up.
Bravopilot Rahm's complaint is the same old complaint
Would he be complaining if he had no horse in the race?
I doubt it.
I get the argument that those that haven't been to the BMW before, are only there for points.
That's still no reason for the hostility.
PGA guys show up at events they don't normally go to for the points as well, when they need them.
I don't read about any hostility towards those guys bumping others out.
Works both ways, unless you're a PGA hypocrite.
Spuzz Agree my wise, albeit color blind, Canadian friend.
Bravopilot Rahm's complaint is the same old complaint about those making the numbers for next year should not block those trying to qual for next year.
And he's saying nothing about his has-been Captain, Luke Donald, taking up a spot.
