Super League Predictions

Watching the tournament right now. A fair number of guys taking advantage of the shorts ruling, including Chase Koepka, Michelson (!), Westwood, Dechambeau, Na, and others. DJ sticking with long pants.
Niemann in the lead with DJ and Gooch one shot back. Cam Smith is three shots off the lead in his first LIV event.
LIV is definitely putting out a good product...
Good stuff!
What a PUTT!!!!! DJ!
We watched Saturday and Sunday. I don't know, it just doesn't flow for me. Plus, having the same basic group of guys over and over, it reinforces the feeling of randomness of elite tournament golf, if that makes any sense.
My biggest gripe is that all of the carnival stuff they do makes it feel like an exhibition. As a fan, I think it's an inferior product.
I like that they can wear shorts.

I have a hard time seeing names like Dustin Johnson, Joaquin Niemann, and Cameron Smith at the top of the leaderboard and thinking of it as an exhibition. It wouldn't be at all surprising to see those names at the top in a big PGA Tour event if they were in it. The only guys really as relevant on the PGA Tour are Rory, Justin, Scotty, and Jordan - and it's been awhile since Rory and Jordan won a major. Tiger is obviously king, but it is always possible that he may never have anything but marquee value going forward.
DonM No, I did not.
Well, between the 16th green and the 17th tee is a party tent that the players walk right through.
Seems to be a good time is had by fans and players alike.
There's a few DP events that have music going on all the time.
One of them was the mixed event that Linn Grant won recently, and the tent is above the 18th green.
LPGA Pro Am has a DJ playing music while players tee off.
I don't see/read any complaints about a "carnival" anywhere, other than when LIV does it.
It certainly is not new.
Curious to me, if Americans are uninformed, biased or what the deal is.

Yep. High quality golf competition in an easy viewing production. I'm liking it as it grows on me. Westwood was trying to stay in it. He was visibly disappointed in his 18th hole gaff. I think those guys are trying to win, not just putting on an exhibition.
