Par4QC Are you one of "those"............that I need ask WHAT a headcover is for?????

Headcovers on a putter are a royal PITA. Just my humble opinion. 😜

Rickochet I have gone thru 3 original putter headcovers on my Ping G5i, since it came out 16 years ago.

This....is what a putter looks like, when the h/c has always been on it.........after 16 years of yearly use. 😏

I would not sell it for the new price!

Nice putter Rex. The finish on your putter is also more durable than a painted head. My putter is non painted Mentor Sports Triad II at 41" and I keep it in a putter well where it doesn't get bumped around by the other clubs. A cart bud of mine has a sock pom pom cover on his putter but he takes the putter out of the bag, puts the cover in the cart basket and when he comes back digs around in the basket to find it then takes him forever to put the sumbich on then poke around in the bag finding a place to stick it. I have time to take a drink, scratch my ass and write down the scores. Drives me nuts. 🤨

Head covers? bah humbug - that is why we have 5 hour rounds of golf.
Head cover off, head cover on - ridiculous. 😁

Sarnella Head cover off, head cover on

Every. Damn. Time. I use a club with a headcover. And there are many.

And there are many clubs in my 'ownership', that still look new after a few years use!!! And any resale is boosted by such looks. 😉

I'm guessing a lot of people in the world never got a beating for leaving tools and such laying around, or using them for wrong purposes, when they were growing up. I did not say 'whipping'.
        Golf clubs.....are tools.

Why putter manufacturers insist on painting putter heads is beyond me. Just leave them satin or raw or chrome or whatever.

sdandrea1 No kidding… it’s brilliant on behalf of the OEMs, people think the putter is beat to shit because the paint chipped off and look for a new one. And nobody will buy a used one looking like that… they buy new.

I wonder what percentage of people don’t know it’s painted and that it’ll chip off.

I would never buy a painted putter.

Years ago I bagged a full set of Acer React hybrid heads and I put head covers on all of them. I tried tying them all together with cords to keep from loosing them. What a goat f'ing. I finally removed the cords and they were still a PITA to keep putting them on and off. I finally just played them raw dog and they took a beating. I was actually going to reshaft them and put them back in the bag late summer until I broke and arm. Will re-shaft them over the winter.

Rickochet I finally just played them raw dog and they took a beating. I was actually going to reshaft them

Raw dog does beat up the shaft, especially if the rough is too high

We get a shitload of iron covers turned in. Obviously that’s 11 or so Headcovers to keep track of… bound to lose one, percentages are too high.

I always use a putter cover now. Back when I had a Ping Anser 2 stainless I didn’t, and they didn’t sell them with the putters anyway. Now the softer putters need covers or it’ll look like a bit before you know it. Rex putter is proof of what happens when you use one. My Ping Redwood Anser is flawless as was my Anser 2 milled that I just sold.

How hard is it to just slip it in a back pocket, when you take it off? migawd. People are idiots.

My putter came with a fake leather Scotty looking cover but it’s too big and bulky. I found a small stretchy cover on e bay . Take it off, stick it in my pocket, putt and put it back on. My son in law drives me nuts. He keeps all his head covers on in the trunk and for play he takes em off. What’s going to happen in the trunk?

Par4QC I think all iron covers don’t fit snugly and get lost. They fall off while clubs bang together or when they pull another club out of the bag. A lot of the covers are generic so they are not on the heads very tight.

We have some that come in the have a number on one side and a skull on the other, just flat piece of vinyl… it’s a piece of crap. Another company called Craftsman… not the tool… but they come in all the time… vinyl flat pice of crap.

They fit like a men’s size 10 shoe on an infants foot.

Typhoon They fall off while clubs bang together or when they pull another club out of the bag.

Yep. Even nice ones like Club Glove are easy to fall off - don't ask how I know this. 🙄
