Tinker Component bizz is in the tank.

I've heard exactly the opposite from just about every seller. Golf sales are through the roof. Production can't keep up with demand. No new products because foundries are still trying to keep up with current orders.

The TS1 and TS2 irons at GW have probably been their best sellers since the M05 days, even at the $50 price point. The PTM iron was tremendous at $35, but just got swallowed up by the TS line. There are $10-$15 heads out there, but if you want thin face, foam filled, hi tech....it costs to produce.

I'm kind of glad that I'm out of it right now. You couldn't promise your customers anything for a timeline. I used to promise three weeks from the time they ordered to delivery and then delivered at two week or less. You couldn't do that now.

Typhoon Maybe I’ll just trash the px shafts so I can stop thinking about them

      What are they exactly?

Tinker Golfworks prices on heads is out of touch.

Initially I thought that as well, but the new stuff is that good IMO. I have tried the TS2 iron, KE4 TC fairway and TC hybrid and they are as good as any OEM heads I've tried. The only negative is probably the resale value compared to OEM.

If I were getting an all new set right now I'd go Maltby or PXG. They are the ones with the best pricing that can deliver. The only reason I have other OEM stuff is I had a great year with tournaments and pro shop credit at my club.

        azgreg What are they exactly?

I think I have the 3 iron shaft as well. Softstepping them would be perfect, which is my plan . I think I’d have to extend maybe just the 5 iron.

They still might be up on FB Marketplace. A few people were interested a ways back but then disappeared.

Sparky such an interesting set of circumstances, with the C19 golf craze, yet production issues exist as a result. Actually feel bad for the component suppliers as they are getting hosed. Would like to hear from @ValueGolf re; his thoughts. Seems like certain companies are doing OK with supply...PXG, Sub70 (DTG and Hurricane) to name a few. I would have thought Hireko would have been ok as they have their own foundry....but??? Also seems like Golfworks is doing OK too.

Hireko and others have slim pickings right now and it is likely a combination of things, including the back-log of ships getting into the ports.

70+ ships outside of the Los Angeles port? That's crazy. Average 14,000 containers per ship, average value per container is $100,000 and that totals over 100 billion in goods sitting in the ocean.

....."As a result curbs on power consumption have been implemented across two-thirds of China, disrupting factory production and daily life.

Some factories have shut down altogether. China's power cuts will further disrupt international supply chains already stretched by the pandemic. Factories have had to reduce production at a time when they are usually ramping up for the December holiday season.

In Guangdong, China's most populous province, authorities have banned the use of elevators in office buildings for the third floor and below, encouraged residents to use natural light as much as possible, and asked for air conditioners to be adjusted to higher temperatures. Beijing and Shanghai canceled annual light shows during the Golden Week holiday that spanned the first week of October.

The energy shortage has been exacerbated by continued severe weather. In northern Shanxi province, 27 coal mines were closed last week due to flooding. In China's southern Yunnan province, hydropower has been crimped for much of the year by drought - much as it has in California."

While heads are always interesting, I was more interested where people go to shop when they are looking for shafts, grips, ferules, etc. I seem to just go back to the usual suspects, but always wonder if I should be broadening my search.

kelco9 I have been getting ferrules through grail golf or glory golf on eBay. Good quality, lots of choices and pretty good prices. Plus they are very responsive, flexible and easy to work with! 🙂

I stick to the same old vendors, too. For shafts, I do look on EBay, but you might not find what you're looking for. I've had more luck buying clubs with certain shafts in them than trying to buy shafts -- some sellers ask an awful lot for pulls. House of Forged sells on EBay, and sometimes they have deals on shafts or clubs. I buy most of my ferrules from Monark -- they have one model I like that's cheap, and since I'm frequently pulling shafts on my stash and trying them in different heads, cheap is good. I had bought a bunch of the DTG super jumbo grips before they were discontinued, and still have a few left, and I've been sliding them off and moving them to other clubs, so they should last me another couple of years. I've used some worn ones as underlistings and used old leather grips I had -- not bad. I don't want to break down and buy leather straps yet, but might have to in a couple of years.

I'm like Rex.....if I can get the stuff I need from VG or DTG that's where I'm going as the shipping is quick!

ode thought Hireko would have been ok as they have their own foundry

They own Integra? That's where all those funky generic heads are produced.

Par4QC I wonder if they will sell them by the head if you call. It would help with their goal of being club builder friendly

Par4QC might be wrong ... But that's what I thought!

ptjn1201 I used to do a lot of EBaying, but it scares me because of abused and counterfeit items. I'm never sure whether I should buy PX shafts on there or just buy the PX shaft stickers and paste them on my own shafts. That's probably what the seller did. LOL.

kelco9 I do no Ebay buying/selling; haven't for a few years. Not only a crapshoot for buying, fake products and all, but a bigger crapshoot for selling. Buyers will buy new items, use them, then request refunds. Ebay always sides with the buyer, and you get back brand new items, that are now used/damaged. Nevermore!

If you aren't already, sign up with all the golf sites on Facebook. Yes, there are scammers there, but much easier to spot, and they are generally, hanged by the neck til dead!! And, always use Paypal G&S!!!
