Heard Demar Hamlin’s uncle say that Demar needed to be resuscitated again once he arrived at the hospital. He said as well that he is breathing 50% on his own, but still on a ventilator.

Also, did not know that before every NFL game the Refs and all the medical people have a meeting and go over the protocols.

They also have one person at every game whose sole responsibility is to intubate a person should they stop breathing. So it seems the NFL was prepared for the worst case scenario which unfortunately happened Monday night.

Sneakylong I was listening to Rome yesterday.....only do so when in the car and he was talking to a Dr. who got cut off (technical difficulties) and was starting to say if not at the hospital the next best place to be in a situation like this .... Got cut off, but was going on to say at the stadium per the info you posted. Same thing for the soccer player noted above. Quick response and trained medical folks! Horrible for people to witness, but also amazing for people to see the response and the skilled folks taking care of player in need!

It was pretty impressive how fast they did respond to help this young man,time is of the essence
when dealing with any form of heart failure.
The brain and other vital organs get compromised pretty quickly.
A stroke for instance, you will lose over 30,000 brain cells per second until treatment to stop
or dissolve the blood clot can be performed.

Bills / Bengals officially canceled. The implications on the playoffs are many in regards to seeds / home field, etc. Recommended options were out out for the owns to discuss which apparently occurs tomorrow are out there.

Cwing am I right in that if Cinci loses to Bills and then to Baltimore, then Baltimore would have won the division? There is no way to make it fair for Baltimore in any scenario as they will not be able win the division and improve there seed. Might very well be mute if Cinci beats them. IMO this is the scenario that buggers it. For those teams who already clinched the division it's not as big a deal as they will host a game.

If the top teams win, KC is 1, Buff 2, Cinci 3. No chickanery/coin flip/neutral site BS. Just leave it. They chose not to reschedule the game, let's not make a spectacle of it. IMO this would be the best scenario/most fair.

Yeah, this is BS. They will find out in the meeting tomorrow this will not fly. These fellas are forgetting who exactly the NFL is run by......the fans. How the hell do you screw the fans/season ticket holders of 2 teams, and quite possibly several teams, which is what this scenario does???

Like 1 guy said yesterday, they should have cancelled all games this weekend and only finished (resumed) the game from Monday. 1 week would not disrupt a season that is already going to run into next October. Or so it seems anyway. 😉

So, if the Bills or the Bengals should win the SB, do they get an asterisk beside their name on the trophy & record books????

Bengals had to lose out to both the Bills and Ravens for Ravens to win the division. NFL took care of the Ravens. They gave them a chance to play at home if they beat Bengals. Bengals will be North champs regardless of outcome but could potentially lose home field in playoff game. and will receive lower draft pick and harder schedule in ‘23.

In short, Bengals win division but my not get the advantage of being the North Champions (home field). Bengals would get a worse draft pick (by draft order) and a harder schedule for ‘23.

If the Bengals won out vs Bills and Ravens, the Bengals could have been the #1 seed with a KC loss as Bengals beat KC head to head and would have also had the head to head vs Buffalo.

Nope
That would have had negative effects for a number of teams not even associated with the AFC. Yeah, the course of action chosen will not be "fair" for the AFC team (s) that may have hosted a playoff game but, the current plan minimizes that effect.

professor Yeah, I guess the NFC games could go on.
But, deciding to 'maybe' use a coin flip for something as important as these games......well, this ain't Vegas. Let the show go on.....resume the game and finish it. These are big boys, they can go without a week off.
I never got 3-4 months off, with pay.

Playing the game after the season and pushing back the playoffs would put at least one of the top 3 AFC seeds at a disadvantage as other teams would then have a bye while they are playing.
