Not that it matters but former Bengals season ticket holder here. I’ve never seen anything like that. The hit didn’t appear to be much. Just a standard tackle. As a matter of note, every shoulder pad I’ve ever seen includes a plate that covers much of the chest. It makes me wonder if there was an unknown underlying issue.
Just scary.
There are two parts. First and foremost, the short term and long term health of Damar Hamlin. That is priority #1. Praying for Damar and his family.
Second, the football perspective. All we currently know is there will be no resumption of play this week. The implications of that are many. We also know that week 18 will proceed as scheduled. I’m not sure the Bills or the Bengals will be mentally / physically prepared to play their week 18 games.
