Eli cares. He beat Brady twice on the grandest stage of all and even was awarded MVP both times. Very few will care if he's not ushered into the hall of fame this year or any year. Stats don't matter game-to-game, but they are somewhat necessary in evaluating how good a player is relative to others at his position. Stats at a given position might not be what a particular team needs to win, but they usually bear out the quality of the player in the long run. But a player can be just good enough for a team to win with, and that is indeed good enough.

Would you rather be Eli with two Super Bowl wins against the GOAT. Or never win one but be considered a great QB like Dan Marino? Depends on what value you put on Championships.

The NY Giants do not win those two Super Bowls without Eli’s clutch play when it mattered. Escaping the pass rush and Tyree’s head catch and then the tip toe sideline catch by Manningham.

Eli was a mediocre QB except for his two Super Bowl wins against great Patriot teams. That’s what he’ll be remembered for.

Also, for me Eli gets in the HOF. Probably not this year.

I hate both teams, so it doesn't matter to me. I do like both quarterbacks though. Maybe I'm the only one but always liked Rodgers while hating his teams. I do feel like the Texans will prevail on the road though.

I do understand what you are saying, and yes, it is an important quality that a player can come through when the pressure is at its highest. I don't think he's a choker, I just don't think he stands out among quarterbacks at this point. He may very well at some point since (IMO) he has improved over time.

Could be wrong (which is not surprising), Stafford will torch da bears. Bears defense (despite looking ok in 2nd half against the Pack) is terrible and they are without their best LB-Edwards.
Afraid cardiac kids run ends next Sunday.
Far and away best bears season in 40yrs.
Hopefully, they can be in playoffs for yrs to come.

So, I'll repeat....'same place as yours'. Yet, that is just not true. Mine is not in PA. Then yet again, most of yours probably are not today either. 'Same place' covers a lot of ground for where NFL players may be after getting their asses beat.

I might think differently if he could see over the line, instead of bashing hands & helmets with throws(most in league) and had a much better completion % when he is able to.

He's a Bears QB. I've seen(imo) some good ones there. Ask me about Caleb in another 2 years.😉

That’s a talent in itself. Don’t play all that great in the first 3 quarters, but put on Superman’s cape in the 4 quarter and win the game. No way the Packers should’ve lost that game. Calib has a special talent to win games at the end.

Now if he can just get better at the mundane QB play. lol Or like I mentioned before maybe he’ll always be an off schedule QB. He seems to love the drama.

I would be fine either way. Whether or not Dan or Eli are I don't know, but I'd be willing to bet that both are pretty satisfied with their accomplishments.

I like your mention of on being considered great and winning championships. I think Dan Marino would have loved to win a Super Bowl more than being one of the greatest throwing QB's of all time. Eli will be always remembered for his championships just like Joe Willie Namath for his Super Bowl win. Tom Brady did it many times and with two different teams. Conversations, debates and arguments of who was better than who at this or that are secondary. People do not care so much about their total stats, it matters more if you are a winner.

Grew up in the Rockies cheering for the Broncos. Went to med school in New Orleans. Did my residency in Washington state. Moved to central California. Eventually, ended up in Virginia where Commanders' games are on every week.

That explains my teams. And my most hated teams, which are: Cowboys, Eagles, Falcons.

Caleb now is middle of the pack. Only in his 2nd year. Rookie year had no off line and a crap head coach.
Rumor has it Caleb is one of the reasons Johnson took the job.
Bears qb history has been dismal (that can't be argued).

I never will. But there have been some along the way that were decent for the way the family wanted the team to play. When they got too good, they seemed to be gone the next season, and were not much use to the teams they went to. So, longevity is also not a Bears thing, at QB. That's why I said to sneaky to ask me again in 2 years, as far as Caleb.

Been a while since a QB and 2 RBs...all in the same season, have lit up Soldier Field!! Seems they should be unbeaten. (crazy talk)😄

Bears need a decent defense. Hopefully, free agents and draft can fill obvious holes.
Poles did an excellent job on offensive side last offseason.

There is no such thing as a good long term qb without an offense line.

Of course, hoping Johnson's coaching and Poles talent picks can finally change the script.
Very frustrating watching other teams playing well while da bears wallow in their own sh$t.
