johnnydoom yeah they got handled in those games. I did not think he'd get one.....which coincidentally was vs. Favre/GB, my two favorite teams/QB,s. This thread, in part, is discussing the merits of the individual and trying to factor in what the team meant to their stats/careers. TD is a good example as the line was good. Same with Emmet Smith, but what about Barry Sanders🤔, it's hard to separate it out and at some point credit needs to be given to the accomplishments. Matt Ryan is another one....what's gonna be his HOF status🤔. Glad I don't vote🙃

No doubt. But that does not mean the game is any better. imo, it is worse.

professor Not when the scores are in the 30s/40s. It may look like it when they 'hold the line' on a 3rd/4th down under 1 minute to go for a win. But....look again at the score they had to protect. And they only had to defense 3-4 plays to save the game.

There is no defense in a game that is won or lost at 42-35!!
And no, that is not a 'showing' of the offensive abilities. Even the Bears can score 30+ when there is no opposing defense.

They just can't win those games though.🤣

Not NFL, watching Colorado/ TCU game. Really close game right now.

Walterjn It was a fun game to watch. I know it was an inter-conference game, but was typical Big 12 with lots of offense and not much defense. Many exciting plays.

That was a great game. Deon Sanders has Colorado's program turned around. Travis Hunter playing both sides of the ball in that heat was something else. Deon's son Shedeur throwing for 510 yards and 4 TDs.

Neither team could play defense, but it was a hell of a shootout.

Sneakylong nice to one of the retired pros coaching a college team. He's got the experience for it. Heard one of the guys on the Colorado team followed him from another school when he went to Colorado.

Yeah, Deon Sanders turned Jackson State around. He was 27-6 in his three years there. Including 12-1 last year.

I believe 9 players entered the transfer portal from Jackson State and followed him to Colorado. Sanders was able to recruit Travis Hunter to Jackson State. Hunter was one of the top recruits in the country.

Colorado won only one game last year. So Sanders has a good shot a beating that. Lol. Some think eventually someone will give him a chance as a head coach in the NFL.

I heard he has 80 new players. Supposedly told almost the whole team he was bringing in his own guys and they'd have to transfer. Not sure how I feel about that. They want the players to have loyalty but what about the coaches?

Yeah, not many players from last year are on the team this year. Sanders is obviously a great recruiter. Not to go down a rabbit hole, but I’m in favor of the transfer portal and NIL.

Coaches move all the time. Have no problem with players doing the same.

Turning a team/program around requires better talent. I doubt he cut players he thought were better than those he was bringing in. I think he was sending the right message when he promised “effort” (if not results) prior to the game. Letting everyone know that no job/position is safe - is a pretty effective way to ensure that.
