azgreg Wow, when you're down aren't you supposed to send your best out first? Rory would have been hidden in the middle of the pack if it were me.
I think the Euro's have a good shot in the first 3 matches if Rory wakes up but then I see the US with slam dunks in the next 3. And since I don't see Rory waking up, I look for DJ/Casey to be the clincher

Just got done watching tape delay....Fabulous afternoon matches. ๐Ÿ“ขUSA๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

I'd hate to be captain of the team that needs 9 wins out of 12 matches today.

Not a wise move based on form....BUT....if he plays well and wins, it would be big. If they get thru those first 2 matches it might get interesting. Worth the risk IMO!

azgreg The US is favored in every match except Rahm's.

Yea, and heavily favored at that. DJ, Morikawa are -200 and Finau is -225. That's really high odds for a golf singles match. I put $10 on all the Americans and took DJ, Morikawa, English and Thomas in a 4 man parlay. Also took Finau, Bryson, Cantlay and Xander together.

garyt1957 I don't gamble (more of thinking it is only at casinos), but frankly didn't realize how widespread it is, plus all the ads about sites didn't realize how easy it must be to wager on sports.

sdandrea1 Yeah, McGinley gave some long psychological strategy for Harrington. Not sure he believed it, but apparently this gives the Euros some kind of bump as McIlroy will be pressed to win by playing well

Bravopilot I don't gamble (more of thinking it is only at casinos), but frankly didn't realize how widespread it is, plus all the ads about sites didn't realize how easy it must be to wager on sports.

Yea if it's legal in your state it's a couple clicks on your phone. I don't gamble big, just something to keep me interested. If the RC is decided by the 6th match I'll still have a rooting interest in the rest

Bravopilot Well, he has to win if they have any chance and yea, seeing Rory get it done could spark the troops. I kind of find all that stuff to be BS. Any professional athlete that can't get up for a competition without some outside help has a problem.

darpar I hope this doesn't come back to bite him!
โ€œThey have run the score up on us before. And if we have the opportunity, we are going to run it up on them tomorrow.โ€ โ€” Tony Finau.

Kind of surprised Tony would say that.

Yea, US is acting like it's over. I thought JT and Berger celebrating and chugging beers and all that was a bit much. If it does get a little tight the pressure will be immense to not choke away the biggest lead ever. I don't think that will happen but you never know.
And Finau's comment doesn't even make sense. How do you run up the score in golf? It's not like Alabama playing some small school wher they could put 100 on them but take their foot off the throttle not to embarrass them. What are you going to do in golf, throw matches? Makes no sense.

garyt1957 All part of the strategy to lull Rory into thinking he is playing better, then snatch the victory away later. Just not recommended for the faint of heart

Xander straight up shoves one on #1......he was over that putt for a long time๐Ÿฅถ

BTW, loved those hoodies and hats the US team wore yesterday. Only $298 for the hoodie! Not sure on the hat, probably 50

Looks like Xander shook the nerves
