Just booked my driver fitting with Frank at Ace of clubs. I've known Frank for years, got him taking care of our indoor golf customers. Best fitter around....

When I left I looked up info on the shaft. Wanted to see how it differed from what I had at home.

What I found was the whole time I'm thinking he's just watching numbers....he's not...he's looking at my release, transition etc....unmeasurable things that only a good fitter looks form.

Typhoon No, I would have run out of space! The funny part was the tees flying in the studio with him sitting there. Once in a while you'd hear him...taken schrapnel.

You have the numbers from the fitting with Frank ?

I was looking at the ugly yellow shaft last year, could not pull the trigger.
Interested in it if the price ever gets to a working man's level.

Bill, I didn't even want to bring up the numbers...because they were totally different than any other launch monitor I've been on.

Rex, Steve, Ron would be all over me.

I sent Frank my GC2 numbers and he told me they didn't make sense. He plugged them into his flightscope software and they didn't make sense either.

I didn't ask any questions, Numbers or no numbers, Frank is the best. I did hit my own driver with my 3 shafts as sort of a baseline and what we came up with was better.

I have the printout, I'll post some stuff later on.

I will say, I remember his Flightscope with my Ping driver vs our GC2 had me 5 mph less clubhead speed, 8 mph less ball speed, 700 more rpm backspin, 5 degrees lower launch angle. Also 45 yards LESS distance.

Both had my AOA at 2.5-3 degrees positive though.

You said he didn't even look at the numbers, only looked at you. He's building/or has built, the driver you hit best, and will hit best. Numbers be damned, as I always say, and Frank proves it. As he should have with his rep.

Someone makes a ton of money off those machines, but the money people are paying to see results, should be going to those with the human eyes, not electronic!! They see EVERYTHING.

And, like LB said, post those numbers.

He looked at the numbers too but he knew by looking at my swing which type of shaft would yield the best results.

I'll post numbers later, work is at an all time worst right now

Typhoon T. Frank is old school. He can eye ball and fit perfectly. The LM is there because most expect it to be there in a high tech world. Same with most old school fitters that understand the swing in relation to proper equipment to fit that swing.

Typhoon sounds like you found a great club. When you say reasonable your driver setup probably cost $500.00 right? I tried the yellow shaft, but ended up with a M1/GDBB6-s combo

My fitting lowered my ball spin and The TM M1/M2 certainly will help Ball speed. Would love to see your avg numbers with the Ping vs M2

LBlack14 LB, I'm thinking John has finally figured it out, although it took an old school fitting to hit him upside the head................that the only damn numbers that count are the ones in the little boxes on the scorecard!! All else, mean shit. And that includes those numbers on each clubhead!!

Let's just say it 15 yards further and a better fit than my Ping and those shafts. The kiyoshi HB shaft that was just as long I'll pick it up later. I'm the lighter head weight of the M2 helped out.

The Ping I'll most likely trade for an M1 just to have something to fool around with as a back up driver. Is might take my HOF Patriot and Sadlowski shafts and try backweighting them a bit to give them the counterbalanced feel I get with the M2/HZRDUS .

So take my old numbers and add 15.
