Wednesday is supposed to be 45º and partly sunny. Although I'm struggling to find someone to play with, I might get out myself just to hit some balls and get some means of exercise and shake off some winter rust.
Played Saturday and although we played the 6100 yard tees, I played better than expected (although granted - we were rolling the ball everywhere. Or, as I told my buddy, "we're just playing a winter round with improved lies everywhere like some people play year-round.") It was soft, but balls weren't plugging, although they were picking up mud, even in the rough. I hit 13/18 greens, shot 78. This time of year I can't possibly find it within me to complain. Fun time.
Hoping to get out both Wednesday and Thursday. Got a golf trip coming up on the first week of March to Port St. Lucie, and would enjoy getting in a few rounds simply to find some means of feel and short game practice before then.
Upper 30's today, mid-40's tomorrow and Thursday.
AND.... only 50 more days until Spring!
Heading to Cabo, Mexico in 8 days for a week of warm-weather R&R with the wife, our first "real" nice getaway since we've been married (1989!). A friend of mine at the club is retired, has a 4-week timeshare in Cabo. Back in June I gave him $1000 for a week at a resort there in Cabo where he stays, already got everything paid for. Including an all-inclusive deal that includes adult beverages. 🙂
Not taking the golf clubs, as I'm devoting this one to the wife. Hoping the Golf Gods smile favorably on my sacrifices, and that they reward me for my undying devotion a few weeks later when I head down to Florida for what appears to be a very enjoyable winter golf excursion with several other guys!
Of course, the Golf Gods don't give a rat's ass about me... but if they threw me a bone, I wouldn't be upset.
