Eguller Saw he was tied for lead after 1 round. I think he likes this event since it is basically his backyard. The wet greens are letting guys be aggressive which is leading to some nice scores.

I just saw a couple guys play a 244+ yard par 3! I wouldn't have a club unless my 3w got some roll out or I took a little off driver, lol.

Wasn't there a par 3 of close to 300 yards in a US Open fairly recently? (8th at Oakmont was 288 yards in 2016...)

For what it's worth, I've hit driver on a par 3 fairly regularly when I think it's the right club - usually on windy days, where 180 into the wind is a driver or a layup.

MartinD Oh, I know there have been longer. I am just amazed at these guys length and ability to hit shots I could only dream about!

azgreg I attempted that shot today, I am not Jordan.......Mine went over those trees to the right!

Got a 203, #12 on our Carrickstone course. Anything from driver to 5i depending on wind. Antonine course #17 is 228, almost always a driver, with a fade to take a few yards off if the wind's with you.

golf_bhoy My normal course since it is cheap! ($8-$12 depending on 9 or 18, free if I walk) has no long Par 3's. The first two are basically the same distance, same direction, so you hit the same club. The next is shorter. The back 9 has 1 longish that is about 160-180 depending on tee boxes. The next is 170 max. Par 3's are my nemesis! Give me a Par 4 or better yet a 5 any day!

Will he get it done today ?

No Contest, but how about -18 for the WIN. 🏌

there seems to be a few guys ahead of the leaders who are going to post lower scores..........................
