So, anyone else feel like this "feud" between Brooks and Bryson is fabricated as a way to take advantage of the PGA Tour's social media incentive bonus? I mean... sure, they might not like each other exactly but both stated a while back that they were actually "friends" and had no issues. Now all of a sudden we see a beef and they are both lighting up Twitter with spirited back and forth.

You think this would have happened if there wasn't a $40 million fund for top social media influencers?

pike51 I don’t think this has anything to do with the new bonus system. Bryson is just an out-there kinda guy and Brooks is one of those guys who has no idea how obnoxious his comments come off (see his comments about his "buddy" DJ). We enjoy it, but ultimately, it may be better off for these 2 to speak less in general.

I honestly don't think players like Koepka or Reed care what the fans or fellow tour players think about them or how they play. Both Koepka and Reed are reasonable faster players and are gonna clash with slower players like DeChambeau. They play at a faster pace and like the pace if possible to be faster so they can stay in a rhythm. I think that's where some of the friction comes from.

BTW Koepka honed his game on the Euro Tour and because of that experience he may look at things differently than many USA PGA types. I believe that's where he learned the hard knocks, shrug it off and go.

Fans do tend to like rivalries and feuds. Will there be a bench clearing brawl in golf's future? It could be another thing to grow the game lol.

The media is fanning what little flame there is. I have them on ignore.

WWE hype all the way. I'm sure there are some things they don't like about each other, but I doubt either takes it personally.

If I’m the Commisioner I have a nice Conf call with both of them. A little rivalry is good for ratings. Rewarding people for heckling, like sending the first 50 people Michelob gear for chanting "Brooksie" is slowly going to turn the crowd into the crowd of Happy Gilmore. (Don’t get me started on gambling.) Imagine DeChambeau getting ready to tee off on 18 of a major with a 1 shot lead and getting heckled as he swings.

They thrive on this kinda sh1t.

The moment Brooks stops, it will stop.

I don't really care too much, but it's not good for the game. And if I'm Captain Sticker ... I am having a quiet word with BK and talking to him about what it means to be on a team and seeing how he responds!

These 2 guys may well be splitting that whole $40M at the end of the season. PGA will regret that deal.

I highly suspect those two are trading texts, planning their next move to keep this going, and laughing their asses off.

Eguller JMO, but golf is just fine without all the BS.

Completely agree, but we're dealing with all the folks that drink this crap up like it's free beer. Media loves it.

Just what golf needs - more drunken idiots yelling 'Brooksie' or 'Mash Potatoes".
        My mute button still works.

And, yes, the media loves it as it probably adds to their viewership.

          Sad, but true.........

          Eguller the media loves it

The Tour must love it too or else they would not have come up with this stupid payment system.
They get the most blame for the lack of decorum on the rise.
          Idjits.

I really don't care for either guy. Did get a huge laugh out of that with Bryson yesterday though.

Somewhere in Vegas, a promoter is finalizing deals with sponsors, talking with agents, gathering the cash, scouting the venues(golf courses, not rings). It will happen and neither have enough money now to turn it all down. Esp. if it is for some charity. 😉

Bryson has a sense of humor and he knows where Brooks' buttons are. I love it, even though I think it's all a put-on.
