Yeah, she's not driving much, or at all. She drove 1 day last week; messed up her wrist just turning the key and shifting into gear. Very bad arthritis, it is. Been on that IV stuff since they allowed it in the U.S., maybe 10+ yrs. ago. Every 6 weeks. @ $4K per bag x 2 bags, very thankful for Medicare and ins.!!
A wife of one of the guys I play golf with has R.A. She also has all sorts of things going on. Went through surgery. medication, therapy...... Their insurance premium is close to $3,000 per month, he said the insurance never made a penny from them.....
R.A. is a debilitating decease no body really talk about.
I'd hate to think how much this chemo type IV(Remicade) has cost(someone) through the years. She got into it when it was in trials, more or less, in the U.S.. At that time it was around $5-6K per bag, which was no cost to us, and still is hardly a cost to us. Her work ins. picked up what was owed at the beginning, and now Medicare and other ins. takes care of it; almost 100%. Lucky us!
The number of bags, whatever measure it is, is pretty much determined by body weight. She has lost a lot of weight since the beginning, so less med. per session now & I'm not sure it's enough, sometimes. She can't bend like a pretzel any more.

Yes, all the medication will take care part or whole of the illness , however they all have sever side effects.
Hope your wife feels better. I know it's hard, but do some type of circulatory exercise, no matter how little it is, will help.

The butter knives were 1984-1985 so it will not qualify for your purpose. PAR4QC 's warning of checking the shafts before putting the old golf clubs in play is very correct. Do check for rust and structure weakness or simply replace the shaft to your choice.
I have a few sets of persimmon woods and butter knives I still play in the Summer. Because not a lot of people knows how to restore refinish the old clubs around here. I had tried to refinish the persimmon woods and it was not as easy as I thought it would be and very messy. tried everything except changing the face plate. I was more worried of causing crack in the dried up persimmon than anything else. So I tried not to take out the old stuff when the condition is wet or too cold.
Not sure when these MacGregor Heritage irons were made, but if they interest you, let me know. Excellent condition with original grips, maybe still playable.
Sorry I can't help you. I have some persimmon woods and I have a ping 1a putter, but the oldest set of irons I have is a set of Lynx parallax irons from the late 80s, and they're not forged (at least I don't think they are).
If the Lynx irons interest you, let me know. I'd be happy to offload them.

I am one of those PT's in a hospital that works on an orthopedic floor. Important to think of your therapist as a coach and teacher. He or she will be the most important person throughout your rehabilitation.

Search is over. I lucked into a serendipitous find. My first set of new clubs were Wilson Sam Snead Blue Ridge forged irons. Got them in the mid 70s. A buddy pointed me to a NEW old stock set still n the original box in plastic. They are on their way. Nostalgic and vintage, mint and cheap.
I know I'm late to the party on this, but I have some vintage clubs I'd love to get rid of, simply b/c they take up space in my workshop, and I'll never use them again....
