darpar I really haven't given it much thought. I might see about do that providing I can find a driving range longer that 200 yards, or someplace that I can see what kind of rollout I have with the current setting.

There is the paint I added to make the gap between the ferrule and stock paint not so noticeable.

What you did touching up the shaft is fine but for arguments sake, an experienced/professional clubmaker would have just used a longer ferrule to hide it. One will look at that job and, without being negative, it screams amateur's job.

accufitgolf I am an amateur! This is the 1st club I've ever built. I shall remember that bit of advice! That and trimming enough to make that bare bit vanish under the ferrule. I need all the help I can get. I've learned most of this build from online sources, primarily here on GB; and nothing in person.

And after the range session, I stop at the clubhouse and pick up another ball for carpet putting practice. I almost have all the colors. I even have one for @Spuzz ....

Good work Walter. 👍. My first build was a Golfsmith SW in 1998. I was hooked after that.

sdandrea1 thank you! I'm very pleased with this build. Now I just need to learn consistency with my swing, and teeing the right height. I noticed that at the range I could take a few practice swings and be good for the balls, then I would screw something up and have to take a few more practice swings.
I think I am going to have to find a longer driving range soon. It would be nice to see what kind of roll I get right now.

and if you want to preserve the "like new" look of the crown, maybe put some masking tape along the top edge while at the range.

To me, you have a posture issue, given the ball marks on the top and bottom of the face.
I'm no swing expert though.

I think I hit the ball most consistently when I load my left leg and don't try to transfer my weight to my right leg and back to my left. Trying to get some weight transfer to help with the power, and distance. Looking into ways to make that weight transfer natural and automatic for me.

the swing that simplify the concept.

Eguller I'll look into those. I just found ZEN golf mechanics on youtube, and I'm interested in what they are doing so far.
