It was from the 18th green.
You could see her take the flag in hand just before the cameras cut away.
Thought it was a souvenir for them. Guess not.
Good for her and Lee. Classy.

Eguller Interviewer at the end should be demoted. Pitiful. Congrats JT.

What did Tireco say? I missed it.

Rickochet Eguller Interviewer at the end should be demoted. Pitiful. Congrats JT. 🏌

As JT walked away from the interview he turned back to Tireco and said, "Man why do you do this to me?" I hope Tireco felt 2" tall.

Don't mean to drag this out, but is wasn't Tireco, but the Giant Buttbird and awful interviewer Steve Sands.

    My bad.

Justin’s grandpa passed away over a month ago.

The only reason I would consider Sands bringing that up in horrible taste is if JT specifically asked him beforehand to not bring it up.

I’m no fan of Steve Sands, but I seriously doubt that JT was blindsided by the mention of his gramps.

      azgreg Couldn't find that one.

Same interview. They just clipped the last few seconds with JT's comments.

Spuzz JT is a big enough star now that he should decline to be interviewed by asses he doesn't like.

He'll not walk away from any 'win' interviews, or just any interviews for that matter, after what he went through with the 'putter renaming' incident. Can't have any more bad publicity.

And, I saw nothing wrong in the question/statement about his Gpa. And I don't think JT did either, as he was already thinking about it. I think he was happy that he was mentioned.

Maybe not, but it was still VERY unprofessional and inappropriate for a serious interview. How about
a thoughtful question or two ?

I personally saw nothing distasteful with mentioning his grandpa, given this had happened over a month ago. Again, provided JT didn’t ask him to not go there prior to the interview.

At what point is it "okay" to bring that up if a month is too soon?

Not really worth debating, but I just personally felt that it wasn’t out of bounds. JT even chuckled a bit when he said, "“you had to go there didn’t you."

Had his demeanor been more serious, perhaps I’d agree.

If anything, I thought Sands' Tiger worship was more inappropriate than anything else.

Par4QC He'll not walk away from any 'win' interviews,

        I didn't say walk away.
I said refuse to be interviewed by a certain person, like Tiger did.

It was a tremendous win. Hated the interviews too though. They use former players though the play to analyze and criticize play and then switch to media personalities to twist the knife with personal questions during and after the play.

The aerial view of Thomas' ball hooking around the corner on 18 on both Saturday and Sunday had me on the edge of my seat. Seeing the ball curving hard without knowing the relationship to the water had me twisting in my seat both days. He looked a bit anxious too.

You guys do realize that an interviewer (Sands in this case) often times has a producer
in their ear feeding them questions to ask......I don't think JT was offended in the least.
Maybe just caught off guard a bit.
He's a pretty emotional guy to begin with.

darpar I do realize that, but it serves no real purpose (in my view) to ask someone that lost a close relative about that loss in front of the whole world when most people watching have experienced the same. If you want to memorialize the guy then ask the family ahead of time and get the material to run. Don’t know the answer, but I wonder if announcers that were former players would have ignored the producer if fed that question.

              johnnydoom Don’t know the answer,

You have the answer, but it's on the player to say "next question" like NHL players and coaches do, among others.
PGA Tour Golfers are pussies, imo.

And like you, I don't want an Oprah type interview FFS.
I prefer the race car type of trophy presentation.
A couple of hot chicks on the flanks, hand the trophy over, pop some champagne and that's that.
No athletes talking! They don't say anything worthwhile anyway. They already said it all during the week.
              🙂
