sdandrea1 Initial impression on the ACER XDS REACT hybrid irons. Only got 6 holes in, but will be gaming them tomorrow for 18 in a team event.

I have had a full set of those since they came out quite a few years ago. Another solid product from Hireko with nice fit and finish. The onset face take a bit of getting used to. I have them in and out of my bag over the years and always hung on to them for "when" I get old (😜). They are very solid and have a hot face. I had a bit of an issue chipping with something like a 7 iron. The ball would jump off of the face and I had some distance control issues. One issue is the heads will chip from bag chatter over time if you don't use head covers. The ones I tried kept falling off so I tied them together and they always got tangled. Ones that fit better would be a better selection. These are a very unique. I also have a full set of the iDrive hybrids and like them also. I wouldn't say that one is better than the other, just a bit different. I didn't get to play any last summer but hope to try next spring if my left arm allows. I plan to try with either the Reacts or the iDrives with either the MCS 70 or FST 115/90.

          I'd say they are about the same distance but a slightly higher trajectory with less roll out in landing. I carded a 73 today in a team competitive round. My handicap is plummetting since I switched to the Freddy Mercury girls. Too easy and confidence inspiring. Had an eagle and 2 birdies today.

              DonM Which are better, those or the Tour Edge ones you were just playing?

              I prefer the visual shape of these over the Tour Edge stuff. I don't really like an "iron-shaped" face with a bulbous back on it. These look like hybrids all the way through the set. Which are "better" is a decision for each player.

                    As I was walking out of one today some f’ed up kid/guy comes up to me to ask for money for a cab. I said no.
