From what I see on the Honma XP-1 it's mostly the head, the shaft fits me well also but it's mostly the head. Hot head and a lot of forgiveness.

Does Honma XP-1 sit square at address? I tend to dislike clubs that sit open/point right at address. Is the weight removable/changeable? I would like to shorten and be able to add weight.

    It has an adjustable adapter. The design of the adapter allows the spine of the shaft to be at neutral. For me I like that.

        DonM I had to look it up to see what you meant. That's a very interesting system.

        And they say they've already set the spine.

        Yep as Steve said once when he had that same driver directions are hard to understand in the booklet that they include but I figured it out easily. I think folks think they are gonna break something using the wrench when it torque's. Honma could do a better job explaining the non-rotating adapter system. Probably the Japanese to English translation.

        My Honma interest goes back to their high quality persimmon woods early 90's. I still play one from time to time.

        I think enough of the XP-1 driver that I ordered the 18* frwy and 22* hybrid. I have not been impressed much by new higher tech until the Honma XP-1 as it fits my old senior swing better than any others that I have hit.

                    Same specs. and play ability as a Swing Science FC-One Ion "A" wood 46g .335 shaft. Vizard 43 wood might be a lil stiffer in the tip as I pulled it out of head and checked profile in my NF9. Hard to tell with adapter on shaft but close.

                    The big factor is the head a lot of miss room and play ability.

                    I am 73, 86 mph, 1.4 sec. transition time with driver and early-medium release. I can "wait for it" and not rush from the top kind of senior player so light graphite will work for me. My general ball flight is draw. I expect once the ground drys out to get extra roll as you can tee this one medium or high. The head like I said has miss room all over it. Most impressive modern high tech head that I have hit including some of the big major brands. The head was designed for the senior and ladies market it seems to me.

                        Not quite as whippy as the PRIME shaft. The torque on the Prime shaft was over 6.0!

                              Got to hit the Honma XP1 3w for the first time today. It's probably the only 3w in existence that I can launch off the turf into a reasonably high trajectory. This JDM stuff is geezer-friendly. My 5w arrives tomorrow.

                              I hit the XP1 5h today for the first time. It's stupid long and easy to hit straight. Get one.
