Typhoon Screw the 3 wood Steve. Go with a 5 wood. What you should try is go ask the proshop for the 5 wood and use the 3 wood shaft in the 5 wood head.

I read somewhere a few years ago that most senior golfers shouldn't play with anything stronger than a 20*
fairway wood. I decided to try it, so I found a 20* Orlimar Plus (deeper face than their ridiculously shallow
original) on Ebay and reshafted it with a senior shaft. That club has been great for me....I hit it about 180,
good trajectory, etc.

They're epoxied in John. No go. I will probably exchange it for the 5w and give it a go.

That's assuming the player needs the launch. Playing the ball along the ground here in the winter is viable strategy. However, I agree that a 3w is a wasted club in my bag. I can only effectively use it off a tee and I could use my driver instead.

That sucks Steve, I was hoping it had an adapter. See if they have some fw’s from another brand and try changing the shafts out

Try the Ping G425 SFT 3 Wood. It’s 16 degrees, but can be adjusted to 17.5 degrees.

Better yet. Get the G425 SFT 5 wood which is 19 degrees, but can be adjusted to 20.5 degrees.

Yeah, and I’m sure he doesn’t want to spend $300 plus on a club that may only be in the bag for a short while or until he sees the next shiny new club. Lol

Sneaky, he just needs to see if using the 3 wood length/tipped shaft works in a 5 wood. If the lie angle works, which it might because Steve is tall, this thing would give him the ability to get it easily airborne and more distance.

I got to demo Tour Edge Hot Launch E522 Driver in 10.5 A flex. This is their newest model in the Hot Launch family. The old visibly offset look is gone. The draw bias is supposed to come via a weight and face angle.

Summary: the draw bias doesn't work, the loud hollow TINK sound is horrible, the feel is worse, the flight is inconsistent and the distance is weak. Keep in mind that this is all using MY swing. I think I have been spoiled by JDM drivers

Our shop got the Callaway Rogue ST Max demos in. I took out the 10.5 with the Project X Cypher 50 today for 18 holes. Typical Callaway sound (muted) and feel (solid). I set the hosel adapter in the Standard loft, Draw setting. Easy to hit straight. Good distance (for me) and I did notice some extra roll-out. I don't know if that was a spin thing or just today's course conditions. Worth $549? Maybe? That seems to be the new normal.

          sdandrea1 Worth $549?

Or $300 next year maybe. Nothing but good reviews for this driver unless you want one that is LOUDER.

LBlack14 To that term, not you.

Prices are nuts now. And the trade-in values have not climbed accordingly.

I like my drivers muted. Can't stand the pop of the G425 or the tink of the Tour Edge Hot Launch.

I like one that sounds like I nutted it. 😉 The G425 combines clank and tink. 🤨 Looks at the used sales, almost
all of them have been hot melted.
