Just watched Maple Grove lose the class AA semi-final in OT. The Maple Grove defender dove to prevent the game winning pass, and missed and a tap in ended it. The defender slid what seemed to be in slow-motion until his head was side-by-side with the dejected goaltender as the puck flexed the mesh. They lay motionless on the ice for a good 2 minutes while Eden Prairie celebrated. Multiple kids in tears, some flat on the ice face down and some sitting against the boards. Pure emotion. Don't see it to that degree very often. Meant everything to those kids and they lost.
The teams traded 4 goals over 1:39 in the 3rd. Just a classic. 6-5 Eden Prairie over Maple Grove.
