When you were a kid and fell and scraped a knee or elbow do you remember mom putting merthiolate tincture on the wound? It felt like fire for a minute and left an orange stain, but man did it work.

Rickochet "Red Medicine", as it was called back then.
But it turned the wound orange. 🤔

johnnydoom I do remember friends with curious orange wounds. My mom doused cuts with rubbing alcohol.

My dad was a barber in the 50's and did straight razor shaves. I don't think he had many boo boos but would occasionally nick a mole or something and it would bleed like crazy. He had a little medicine bottle on the back counter with a blood red liquid I think he called "old granny." He would dab that on a towel and touch it on the wound and it would seal the wound immediately even before the customer quit screaming. I think that one little bottle lasted his whole career.

Liquid fire....cauterization purposes only.....do not sip nor guzzle!

sdandrea1 Today is National Popcorn Day. I plan to eat accordingly this evening with a Liam Neison movie.

Plenty to choose from, seems like a new one drops weekly
