KCee I think they were talking about Straka's ball off his drive on the second playoff hole. His stance put one foot in or at the edge of the water and the ball well above his feet. I thought he made the right decision given where his opponent's ball was, but could see the argument for trying to advance his ball without penalty.

KCee It did, based on the looks of it during the TV Coverage it did not look like he could get the wedge under the ball hence he made the call to go back to the drop zone.

The decision to go back was even easier after Straka missed the green from the drop area.

Great finish yesterday. Nice to see Zalatoris get his first win. Definitely made the correct decision on the last playoff hole, especially when Straka screwed up.

Would’ve loved to see after the round for him to try and hit that shot off the rocks. They (Golf Channel) used to have the winner of a Champions Tour event go back out and recreate his winning putt / shot etc..

In this case see if he could’ve pulled that shot off. I tend to doubt it.

Bogey winning a playoff is certainly not quality golf.
It's similar to the winner of a smash up derby.
Yes it's an interesting/suspenseful? finish but the winner is still a wreck.

Hard to see this lawsuit going anywhere. Reed’s reputation as a serial cheater goes back to his college days. Once you’re caught cheating like Reed was on TV in the bunker in 2019 it just puts an exclamation point on his reputation.

If that tape is played in court then as they say a picture is worth a thousand words or in this case a video is worth a thousand words. lol

Par4QC Brandel does seem to have a vendetta and I actually find him less likable than Patrick. I don’t know that Reed has much of a case though. Even though I often root for him, I can’t look at that Hero footage and not believe he didn’t intend to cheat. Other stuff about him doesn’t always ring true, but that one?

Interesting they don’t have a player in the top 20 since Dustin Johnson fell to #21. And it does look more and more like that they’ll eventually get squeezed out of the Majors with the lack of world ranking points.

With the Asian Tour getting less points than the Korn Ferry Tour for example. Right now it’s hard to see any other outcome than LIV players playing themselves into obscurity.

But they’ll be rich playing in the land of the unknown. Lol

johnnydoom Today, just for kicks, I tried what the Pros do every time they are in the rough. Place my iron right in back of the ball and push the grass down.....which is cheating in every respect, yet they all do it.
Every time I did it, the ball moved. Hell man, it has to!! But, when I picked the club up, the ball went back to original position....no penalty.
But, 'tamping' the grass down.....and they may set that iron down several times before making the stroke.
They. All. Cheat. 1 way or another.

This is why Chamblee might not lose the suit. He was only reporting what was already out there.

Sneakylong I take it with a grain of salt. Reed isn't exactly liked, and whilst cheating and theft should not be condoned, it gets handled differently if you are liked or part of the in crowd....and golf is a different kind of a sport as far as that's concerned. I think Kisner was about the only one to say anything in his defense! I suspect it was not incentive for Reed to go to LIV but it makes me wonder🤔 Some people just won't let it go and won't hesitate to publicly shame people . What's the point?
