I feel bad for saying this, but if I was playing the radio game of DEAD or NOT DEAD. I would've gone with dead. I had no idea the old Sentaor and failed POTUS candidate was still alive.

He's had a heckuva run. 97 is longer than most.

I saw Liddy is a young 84. Glad they're both still going.

If you knew Rush Limbaugh's death was something you didn't want to read about why would you click the thread and then make insane accusations about my victimhood and there being no hope in me? You even mocked me by saying that you knew I was going through a lot as if I wouldn't have posted this if I wasn't under some duress.

The world should be a better more in touch place than it is. That I agree with, but you just do you and I'll just do me.

has to be a GB record....not that that really matters, just found this much conversation a little unusual.

I didn't care for the guy myself, thought he was too one sided and extremely polarizing.
But what caught my attention in this thread, is all the posters who criticized someone for
NOT taking the ""high road"" when someone wasn't like minded as themselves.
Sure it's sad when someone passes away, and we should show a certain amount respect for
the deceased's next of kin....
But how many times did Limbaugh take the proverbial "high road?""

I didn't care if this got 5 replies or 5000. I didn't want those who live their lives like their politics are everything to demean his death.

Would wish the same had I been here when RBG passed. I do understand these were polarizing figures with fans and detractors on both sides. My wish was to not see them do what they feel they always need to do based on their politics.

This was a good wish, or so I thought. I would wish the same had I been posting about RBG. Now, it's only a guess, but I don't think I would've taken any heat for that and, yeah, there is a little something in that statement.

I was remiss in not addressing this even kinder part of your reply.

For me, I can say with a straight face that I would love to know you, meet you, play a round of golf with you. I would not like to drink a beer with you because I don't drink. I just dont fit in. Never cared to. I do wonder why I would like to do these things and you wouldn't. I guess we're just different and that's not okay with one of us.

Why Bette's tweet? Very simple explanation. @meagain posted in another thread what she'd said about Texas deserving the suffering they were receiving because God hated our Senators. I wanted to see her tweet for myself. Thought she may have been hacked.

In perusing her TL to find the tweet, I came across her tweet on Rush. Her tweet was emblematic of the exact spirit I was railing against in this thread. He's a human being and politics shouldn't influence thoughts on deaths. It's a sickness.

See, ME PERSONALLY, I don't care about politics. I HATE them. I think ALL politicians are SCUMBAGS and think anyone who has fierce allegiance to any party is an IDIOT. I believe exactly what George Carlin said in his famous rant.
