I saw Tinker had mentioned them in an old thread here.

Does anyone have any experience with this defunct brand? Did they make good stuff?

Toulon They had good stuff. I had a few of their heads several years ago and they were nice, as nice as other known brands, at the time. Might still be around on Amazon, iirc.

They were a local company here in Phoenix. I have plenty of experience with their equipment. I have couple of their hybrids in my stash right now. Built my dad a set of irons. I found a sporting goods store several years ago that had a bunch of their heads for $2 a piece. What information are you looking for?

I also bought some shafts from one of the owners off of CL once as well.

Just a general sense of whether they were garbage or actually desirable stuff.

Have read they had lots of customer service issues/shipping and keeping people's money. Just wanted to know if their stuff was worth that risk back then, or if it was like buying a golf set at Walmart.

Rex gave me what I was looking for. More like a Wishon than it would be some clone company, or worse.

I wouldn't say that good. Seems they had a decent driver, before the huge heads hit the market. Maybe irons that had some kind of initials for the name. It's been a while back, for sure.

btw John....are these what you were looking for, mentioned in another thread?......

They were very good here with fitting people and their stuff was good. Obviously the stuff is dated now but at the time it was good. I can go into any thrift shop around here and find Magique clubs. From what I know the customer service was really good here but can't speak for non local customers. Mute point since they no longer exist.

Driver is 9Β° still in plastic. I think it is 270cc. The other is a 5 wood.

I LOVE the Black Gold shafts. I don't really want a set of shafts, because I already have shafts sitting around that I know I'll never actually use. IE: Bought a set of pulls from a Gold's Factory set. I think I bought those in '09 on FGI and I've never done a thing with them. Also, have a box of 30 Harrison FW shafts out in the garage. Never used a single one of them. Had all these ideas back then, but after cancer I shut it all down. Boxes of heads and the like just collecting dust in my closet.

Just recently I've started to get that old feeling back. Must've been all the love in the virus thread. πŸ˜‚ But, seriously... I feel as good as I have in years save for my left leg which is something I'm not sure will ever be like it was. Nerve damage or something going on over there, but mentally and physically + spiritually as good as it's been in years.

Thinking of buying some new equipment. I would like to put some McHenry metals heads on shafts. Have a new driver 3 and 5 or maybe just 3 or 5 I really wanted to shaft back then.

Just want to see the green grass and get really pissed off every couple of minutes with each new shot attempt. My shots aren't very efficacious.

Thank you for posting the Black Golds. Just seeing those labels reminded me of Cobra CB/MB set I ho'd that I wish I'd kept. One of my very favorite sets from over the years. Beauties, too. Had BG's in them and they were pure, at least for me.

Hilarious! I've been watching a set of Magique BeCu irons exactly like those pictured. The "Cactus" model.

Was eyeing them and a Slazenger Panther set.

Decided I wanted to hit copper irons and nickel irons. I always loved testing out new types of metal with putters and FW. Like Titanium, maraging steel, and magnesium. Have a weird MagCruzer driver very light made from magnesium.

Haven't done enough with irons. Just forged, carbon steel, 431, etc. Never hit BeCu or BeNi irons and wanted to find a cheap set. That's how I saw Steve's profile on WRX. He turned up in a BeCu thread on WRX.

Appreciate the replies and info on them. If someone else buys that set from here it won't bother me. I'll get my coppers one way or the other if/when I actually get back into this. Now, ain't the time when it's an historic cold snap in DFW.

Harrison 2.5 or 3.5. I loved them in a club I was hitting. An old McHenry Metals 5 wood that I think I ho'd to DaveInBrooks. Really regret that one. Wanted that feel back, and found out that was the shaft that was in them and bought a box of 30. Not one of my better decisions.

Toulon I really should buy a set of those myself. Old school, that would look good in my old set of Titleist 990s I've been wanting to get refinished.

No other iron shaft comes close. Best by far for me. But it's been over 7 years and I don't know if I'm the beast I once was. Curious to see how much my strength has diminished.

                  Toulon

I can send you the heads if you want them. Just pay the shipping.

                    Mattyv

Man, that's so generous. I appreciate it. I have 5 sets of heads, already, without shafts. Would never shaft them.

I just want to hit some coppers. Could be a passing fancy but been thinking of buying the BeCu version of the heads you have shafted to some Aldila graphite shafts. Probably won't do it, but am at least thinking like a ho again.

                    Thanks, MattyV.

Toulon why don't ya unload 'em. Only Harrison shaft I've ever played, iirc., was the Saga, in a J33R 460.

                      LBlack14

I have no idea. I have so much stuff just sitting around doing nothing. Some good stuff. Perhaps, one day I'll just get rid of it all.
