I remember watching a video with a similar technique many years ago, I looked at my video collection and it may have been from AJ Bonar but without rewatching the videos I could be wrong and I don't care enough to do that.

Par4QC Sorry, but that man was not "putting", if you watch his wrist flips. That will get you in trouble with spin.

I just posted it for those that are interested. I am not saying it's right or wrong. It's just another way. The my way or the highway guys are as wrong as any other golfer. 😁

I basically play MLDT most others would look at me and say WTF. In other words I play antique golf. I play the ball at a much lower trajectory than any of the younger high ball speed high trajectory golfers. Hell I use blades and persimmon and that's antique. Still walk 18 carrying though. lol

darpar I like her technique!

I bet there's a few on here that could mimic her "squeeze your titties" one piece swing.
😮

I thought that's how we were supposed to do it. It's money, especially when just off the fringe. I just putt with my 7i, or 8i, or 9i, depending on how much roll I want.

Yeah, now that I’ve thought about it and was reminded of Paul Runyon coming up with this and Ray Floyd doing it.

The key seems to be the vertical shaft and the heel off the ground putting stroke. I had gotten into the habit of always using my Gap wedge for chipping.

When I hit a few chips using this method before playing with my pitching wedge it as an epiphany for me.

Like someone said there’s nothing new in golf. Only things we don’t know or have forgotten about. The latter is easy to do as we get older. 😁

I have seen that before years ago. Could never remember the math though as to how far to land it etc.. 😀

That part is new for me. I'll have a go at it. I mostly use a forward shaft-lean and grip, but use a no-wrist-break putting stroke.

Love it. Been doing a subtle version of it with an 8 iron for years. Saw it on some playing lessons with Raymond Floyd.

That Runyan guy is as Geezer as Geezer gets. Should work great for all you old turds on here...🤣

The biggest issue using his kind of technique and SGI irons is that Runyan and Floyd used it with smaller narrow sole blade type irons and it's much easier to pull off with that kind of design iron than a shovel is to use.
