braveheart Love it. Been doing a subtle version of it with an 8 iron for years. Saw it on some playing lessons with Raymond Floyd.
Subsonic That Runyan guy is as Geezer as Geezer gets. Should work great for all you old turds on here...🤣 "Now see here boys, When me and Old Tom were playin match play..."
sdandrea1 Subsonic Should work great for all you old turds on here... Your day is coming......... 😉
sdandrea1 Subsonic Paul Runyan sponsored by Grape Nuts. Maybe if he can increase demand, they will make more?
scotts33 Sneakylong eah, now that I’ve thought about it and was reminded of Paul Runyon coming up with this and Ray Floyd doing it. The biggest issue using his kind of technique and SGI irons is that Runyan and Floyd used it with smaller narrow sole blade type irons and it's much easier to pull off with that kind of design iron than a shovel is to use.
Sneakylong scotts33 I'm playing TaylorMade Sim Max OS irons. They are game improvement irons, but aren't huge shovels to my eye. I used this chipping method yesterday and shot a 79 at Brooksville Country Club Fl. @sdandrea1 neck of the woods. Chipped very well and it saved me strokes.
sdandrea1 Sneakylong Good shooting! @livegolf and I played that track a few years ago. Love those canyons on the front 9!
scotts33 Sneakylong I'm playing TaylorMade Sim Max OS irons. They are game improvement irons, but aren't huge shovels to my eye It totally depends on how steep or shallow one gets using this technique. Some are going to pull it off well especially if you practice enough some are going to have a hard time using it. Seems you have figured it out bravo!
Rickochet sdandrea1 Good shooting! @livegolf and I played that track a few years ago. Love those canyons on the front 9! You headed south with Sophie?
Sneakylong sdandrea1 Yeah, the quarry holes on the back 9. Wouldn't want to lose the brakes on the cart going down those cart paths. lol
sdandrea1 Sneakylong Yeah, the quarry holes on the back 9. Wouldn't want to lose the brakes on the cart going down those cart paths. lol Interesting. They switched the 9s. You get any pics?
Sneakylong sdandrea1 I did, but they won’t upload. Must be too big. The pics don’t do the elevation justice.
Bravopilot Sneakylong Sounded nice, I looked it up. They have some photos posted with the website. Nice looking but some photos don't paint a nice picture. Cattle? https://www.google.com/maps/uv?pb=!1s0x88e8048a8ef2f86b%3A0x3a797b113b6b06b2!3m1!7e115!4shttps%3A%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipPFoVg7Wj43o5_gMYun-1-h8CoPlDzmc_Ah5jj7%3Dw255-h160-k-no!5sBrooksville%20Country%20Club%20-%20Google%20Search!15sCgIgAQ&imagekey=!1e10!2sAF1QipPFoVg7Wj43o5_gMYun-1-h8CoPlDzmc_Ah5jj7&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj5xbHpwe_uAhWImuAKHdK5DLUQoiowGHoECCcQAw
Sneakylong Bravopilot Didn't see any cattle. lol It's a very playable course. It was only $25.00 with our Paradise Card. We'll probably make the trek back up there again. They over seeded the fairways and the greens were fine. Just a a tad slow.
Sneakylong scotts33 I never practiced it but for a few balls before we went out to play. Just seems work for me. Have a lot of confidence with it after two rounds.
