sdandrea1 Par4QC I will say, we have no 'dog tracks' around here. Greens and fairways are really nice all season. Dog tracks are my life........nice greens is all I get with seasonal fairways.
ode Walterjn 🤔, I'd say Cleveland, a bit more cushion on the inside. Too bad as there was a Parsons quote missed opportunity 🙃
DonM I put on my Yak Trax and walked down to the street. It's melting. Finally. @Bravopilot you should be good to go.
Walterjn DonM yaktrax good shit... picked up the pair I have from a buddy when I was last in Carson City... sure wished I'd had them before I got there... would have saved me from a lot of slipping and sliding.
DonM Funnily enough, the weather service issued a winter weather warning three days ago, that had an expiration of 5 minutes ago. And they were right on. An hour ago it was still not above freezing, and now it is. Attaboy/Attagirl!
Bravopilot DonM Yeah, been tracking and my friends at LM said they closed the plant once all started warming up. Will be through Sat am
DonM Walterjn I got rid of a lot of stuff before moving to Texas. The Yak Trax made the cut. We have been iced in for three effing days here. I think my drive to town this morning was the first vehicle on our dead end street in at least 48 hours. Garbage truck has not come all week. Mail has not come all week. I had to check on the neighbor and the Yak Trax made it easy.
Walterjn DonM my buddy used to deliver for US FOODS in Sacramento, Reno and that area. The company set him up with a couple of pair originally and he swore by the diamond grip set. I completely understand why. The morning after he brought them to me I was sure footed enough that I was comfortable to take large steps, to the point of a slow jog on ice and snow. Those will be going in to the center console with at least one pair of the nice insulated goat skin leather Mechanix glove he pick up from Costco for me.
sdandrea1 DonM We have been iced in for three effing days here. Gonna be nice in Florida next week, Don. Pack light. 😉
mulegolf A couple of you mentioned the ice in Texas. My grandson is stationed near San Antonio (Air Force) and is PO'd at all the drivers that have no clue as to how to drive on it.
DonM mulegolf As an Illinois resident I used to laugh at the TV footage of southern drivers sliding all over. Except it's not the same as what you and I are used to. It's ice, usually close to 32 degrees when it is the slickest. Nothing works except to stay off it. And if you are out when the temperature drops through freezing, what you thought was a wet road is now black ice. No bueno.
ode After two days of relief, the winds switched and it got cold in a hurry. Frigid temps through tomorrow!
Par4QC ode Yeah, w/c right now is -3. Going to be a lot worse towards morning. I was out not too long ago and it was nice out, 30+*. But this looks really good.........
sdandrea1 DonM When I was in Colorado, major storms would leave us snow-packed roads. Much more manageable than ice. Much, much more.
sdandrea1 I tolerated Colorado winters better because there was abundant sunshine and low humidity. Cold, but "happy". VA winters are dismally cold and humid with cloudy & rainy (for weeks) conditions. Gloomy. Florida rocks. 😎
AdamMH bad9 that looks nice and warm. It was -34C /-29F over here when I plugged my block heater in this morning.
mulegolf Was supposed to be -19 here overnight last night. I don't know if it made it or not but it was -16 when I went to bed about 1 AM and only -10 when I looked this morning about 8:30.
