Well here I am telling you what it's like in Western NY again. Single digit temps, wind blowing at 30 - 40mph constantly with a measured wind gust of 79mph earlier today ..... 1mph short of hurricane force winds so that gives us wind chill numbers of -35* to -45*. At those temps exposed skin is likely to experience early onset frostbite in 5 minutes. Snow totals will depend on where you live but some areas are expecting 2 - 3 ft of snow, with the extreme cold the snow will be powdery (unlike the last storm that dumped 4+ ft of wet heavy snow] so there'll be some HUGE snow drifts from the wind.
The New York State Thruway (I-90) is closed from Syracuse to the NY/PA line and all the counties in WNY have driving bans in place. Only emergency response personnel are permitted on the roads
You guys in the warmer states stay warm & stay safe, you don't have the heavy equipment & resources that we have.
Question: how do the people in Siberia deal with this? Where do people in Siberia buy a thermometer that goes down to -60* F?
