I made the mistake of putting our recycling bin out last night for pickup today. I looked out the window last night and the damn thing blew over. So I'm out at -5 with -30 wind chills picking it up. While I was doing that it blew over again. I only found about half of what was in it. I brought it back in the garage.

This morning I went out again when it warmed up to -1/-25 WC to try and find more stuff. I did find some but I'm leaving the bin in the garage until next week.

My cheeks hurt from being outside.

It had warmed up to -1° and wind was down to 20mph so I went out and attempted to do the front sidewalk since we have a Christmas gathering tomorrow. I almost didn't get the storm door open. It was frozen shut. We got about 4-5" of snow and ice. I found about 1/4" ice on the sidewalk then 4" of snow then another 1/2" of crusted ice on top. I got maybe 10 feet from the house and gave up. The shit wasn't coming up and I as frozen already. The only positive was that I didn't bust my geezer ass on the ice due to my cat like reflexes. 😝

Par4QC I have no need to move any of this stuff. Parked the car in the garage Wed. and was stocked up on everything. I might venture out Monday. Or Tuesday. 😄
No Christmas for me anyway.

And....the sun is actually out right now. That always mean colder, in Winter.

I looked out the window last night around 9:30 and the guy across the street was out shoveling his driveway. I shook my head, poured 2 fingers of whiskey and sat down in my recliner. This morning his driveway is clear in the middle but all drifted on the sides, pretty much like mine. 🤔

mulegolf Be safe out there. From what I can tell from here, roads aren’t overly slick, but visibility is poor. Probably a fair amount of drifting along the rural roadways. I’m hoping conditions improve tomorrow.

I just put covers over our flowering plants/trees and wrapped the hose bibs. Looking at 23 degrees Sat night. No big deal most of y'all but this is Florida ferkrissakes.
